    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Kearney wins overall at 56th LBJ Enduro!

The 56th running of the Little Brown Jug enduro was held today near Chester, SC.

Glenn Kearney stuck it to the 'orange' crowd taking overall with an a score of 33 on a very brutal, rough course. Not certain, but I was told he was running the "new" 250 engine...

Your's truly made a pathetic return to enduro's after an 18 year absence placing 2nd in the 50+ C class. I should have won it, but I screwed up going into the last section and went to the line a full minute late. That minute cost me as the class winner and I tied, but he beat me by 14 seconds on tie-breakers. :banghead:
 
corey was a row behind me, and would catch me within 2 miles, and I could tell he was in tune with the bike, the way he was riding . Knew he had a chance for the win, when I saw him ride. He was on a Yamaha 4st. Might ride a Husky at next weeks GNCC in N.Y. I won my class 60+A on my 310. But who wathes that class. Guess I'll try my WR 125 next week, with the CR ignition. Like the weight of that bike, but hate that dead spot.

No ones is stopping you from dropping down an age class young fella :busted: John Fero, right? I think we rode together at The Cherokee on the last lap for a bit. I was on a Husky WR250 with black plastics and blue/white graphics. If I remember correctly I passed you on the last lap, wrecked hard, I think I passed again but had a mild concussion and you passed again.....anyway, it was cool to finish the race with a fellow Husky rider when I bonked my head and was seeing stars.

Yesterday was fun at the LBJ!! I've been on the fence about what class to race. I won 250C last year but wasn't promoted to B (right on the fence). Since you can never go back to C I decided to race 250C again and finished 2nd scoring a 64. Would have finished 4th in 35B. Got my first jug:applause:

The LBJ had the biggest pro class I've seen at a non-GNCC race. Mike Brown finished 3rd.

I rode well in 4 out of 5 sections. And now my butt is paying for teh one section where I sat down and rode like a squid.

Lookin forward to Long Cane next weekend. :thumbsup:

GNCC Rider Wins 56th Annual SETRA Little Brown Jug Enduro.
September 10, 2009 - Woodcliff Lake, NJ -- In order to keep his skills honed during the break in the GNCC schedule, Team Husqvarna's GNCC specialist Glenn Kearney took a swig from the Enduro side. In his first ever attempt at racing an American-style enduro, the agile Aussie managed to run away with SETRA's 56th Annual Little Brown Jug's overall win. Expecting his run to serve as little more than a training ride for the GNCC series, the tough-as-nails Kearney showed his prowess in dry and dusty conditions aboard his Wyatt Seals-prepped Husqvarna WR300 2-stroke. The course suited Australian's riding style well, but proved ruinous for other top pros and even Glenn was a little edgy before the race started. Glenn Kearney enjoys the sweet taste of victory at The Little Brown Jug Enduro.
"It's true!" Kearney admits. "At first I was apprehensive and not quite sure how this series worked, but I settled in and caught on quickly." Considering that this was the first event of its type that Kearney has entered, his win was even more impressive. Of course the 4-time Australian Enduro champ hasn't just been sitting on his laurels during the summer break, riding in everything from the EnduroCross series to a 7th place finish in a WORCS event. He even rode some local hare scrambles to stay fit.
After dropping a minute in the opening section to fellow GNCC XC1 class pro Jesse Robinson, Kearney got with the program. He began working his way through the pack, recapturing positions and making up for the lost time. It soon became clear to all, especially the riders he was blowing past, that Kearney's new training regimen and the wide variety of racing events really played a role in his top finish.
"I'm very happy with a win and the way my bike worked today during the race," said the abashed Aussie. "It is great to do so well against guys like Jesse Robinson and WORCS racer Mike Brown at an event as filled with history as The Little Brown Jug Enduro." Speaking of history, past winners of this legendary event include 6-time winner Randy Hawkins, Vance Earl and Jason Raines, so Kearney finds himself in good company!
Kearney attributes his taste of victory at The Little Brown Jug to increased confidence in the Husqvarna WR300 he is riding this season. "The 2-stroke is light and nimble, but with plenty of power on tap... it is very easy to ride and really suits my riding style. I can't wait for the GNCC season to start up again this weekend."

did you guys notice the "O" forks on the Wyatt Seals /Kearny WR300? Was GK on a O shock as well? Just curious. R
 
Also noted were Pro Circuit stickies,,,,,PC pipe? motor work??? anyone know (again just curious)R
Wyatt???? any clues to GKs bike set up???

He had those "O's" on at the first GNCC with the WR300.

Don't know about the bike but I did indeed give Wyatt a big pile of Cafe Husky stickers for the gncc people back east...
 
Yeah the O thing - I was on row 5 and at the end of the race he came out of the woods and the first thing I noticed was the O. I was surprised he wasn't running Kayaba's. If you don't know the Jug, it's easily the fastest enduro here in the southeast - very similar to GNCC style trails. Most of it is as wide open as an east coast enduro gets. You could ride a quad through most of it. I don't think I dropped below 3rd gear until the last section which was a tad tighter.

This weekend is Long Cane. It's very similar to the Jug, just beat out a tad more, about 15 miles shorter and just a little tighter. It's in the same region of South Carolina as the Jug, same soils. They got some rain there Thursday and had standing water in places so traction should be great Sunday. It will be interesting to see if Kearney shows up at Long Cane since he did so well last weekend. If he does I predict it will come down to a tie breaker since it's a much shorter race.

I don't think I shared this photo from before. I am not sure if Glenn is giving me the finger but I felt like a smuck sneaking up on him right after the first GNCC. He collided with a local FTR rider and broke his visor and killed any chance to run with the top three. He ended up 10th with a broken leg or foot.
