  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Just picked up a 06 tc450 with a cracked case

Husqvarna
AA Class
Trying to decide if I should fix it or part it out.
The guy did not follow the proper starting cycle. It backfired and messed up the right hand case and inner clutch cover pretty good.
The bike looks good other than the case. Scott’s stabilizer and recluse clutch.
I looked up the parts and seems new parts would be 1500-1700. I see a 510 eBay case that would work or a 05 te rh case but this case would not work with a Kickstarter.
If I’m gonna rebuild it I would like to add a electric start.

What electric start kit would you recommend?
I have seen mentions of a way to keep the kick and fix this issue so it doesn’t happen again. Does anyone have a write up to this fix?
Anyone have suggestions on where to find parts for this bike other than google?
Thanks

Are you sure it is a 2006 ? It should have a red oil line if it is a 2006. The tank should also be black instead of gray. It was very common for guys to switch most of the plastic and forget the oil line and tank.

Title says 2006 on it. The right case matches up to the 510 smr case I found on eBay. I think I’m gonna buy this used case.

It doesn’t seem like those eBay items are available to ship to the United States. The price does not seem to bad though.
I also found a starter kit on eBay for about $800 which doesn’t seem to bad if I keep it.
