  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Just installed a lectron on my wr300

QUATTRO

Husqvarna
AA Class
Hello

I just installed a new lectron and didnt adjust anything
Bikes start directly an iddled oke
Also driven at low speeds is ok.
I was really sick of the mikuni tmxx
Adjusting several days but coudnt find the sweet spot.
Now with the lectron its runs nice.
Only when i come from load to iddle ist a little lean and after a few seconds the iddle revs go lower and it looks a little rich.
I dont now ore i have to go leaner and let the slide go further down with the iddle screw ore go richer and screw iddle up.
I have the 38mm lectron
2-3xl needle
Short carb boot early model

its more about initial setup that altitude
remove the slide and turn the needle
look at their website, they explain it well

I have tried some adjustmenst but dont find a good setup
With the 2-3xl needle iddle is nice also cruising and shifting gears. But when i cruise in a gear for a few seconds with little trottle the engine is detonation loud really loud.
Also tried the 4-2m rod but it was richer at iddle and with a little trottle it detonated even more. The detonation feels like the engine is going to explode such a loud noise.
What could be wrong?
Squis is 1.3 with the htm race head and i use only octane 102
Also the powerjet is opened 3 full turns.
Also i dont feel any difference with pj on 1.5 or 3 turns out
With the mikuni and the 250 cilinder it always runed great 460main jet was perfect with the 300 even 500 main was to small.
Maybe someone has an idee what i could check or do

There's lots of Lectron tuning info here someplace, just search for it.
My 300 likes the 3-1xl rod which makes sense for a 2T, rich on top and lean on the bottom.
The PJ only takes effect after 1/2-3/4 throttle, 1 turn out is standard.
Basic Lectron setup is pretty simple:
Adjust rod until the bike starts and idles well;
if idle screw has to be more than 1 1/2- 2 turns out or less than 3/4 turn out you need a different rod.
I'd suggest getting 3-1xl and 3-2xl rods. If you already have a 3-2m one of the 3 should surely work well.

It sounds to me like you may have other issues. Check your carb boot and reed block for air leaks!

Oke thanks alot.

Could a readblock give thus kind of problems?
I mean that i have to use such a big main jet?
I dont think i have any leaking at the carb boot i use the gaskekts. And with the mikuni i road with 17.5 iddle jet
This bike drives me crazy i rode two years with the 250 and had good power some told me my bike was running better than most 300 ones. But i liked a little more torq. The 300 is not much better than my 250 and i struggeling 3 weeks with carbs en jetting cant get it right.
Somehow this bike needs alot of fuel at full load but i dont now why. Checked seals at krankshaft carb boot etc
