  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

just bought 310r

Husqvarna
just rode my 310r today handles great but hoping for much better performance after decorking. is there anyone in the so cal area that would be recommended? Also what mods would be recommended, last question passenger pegs for my grandson thanks in advance,
Bruce

So do you mean you are disappointed after uncorking it? Or are you still in stock mode? Passenger pegs would be scary. The subframe is really light since it was designed to be for racing. Uncorking the bike makes it very snappy. Also what gearing are you running? 13/50 is recommended and they come 13/40 which is useless but they have to sell them like that to meet the EPA rules for sound and emissions.

it is completely stock, noticed that gearing is a little tall but can live with that. I want to find a mechanic in los angeles area that can help me bring out the best in this bike. My last husky (2006 te 250) had rear pegs. I think I shoulda kept that bike! the 310 doesn't feel as quick! but hopefully that will change. I want to take my grandkids on the back sometimes they weigh under 60 lbs. I'll find some way of mounting some simple fold up pegs somehow.

I run stock gearing uncorked it works just fine if you were to go racing gear it down you should be able to mount a set of pegs might be alittle tricky enjoy

You can remove your ECU and mail it to ZipTy racing to have it flashed if you don't have a local Husky dealer available. My guess is your stock gearing is what is making the bike feel like a dog. The uncorking is easy to do yourself. Read up on the forums here and you will see how easy it is. The only part you can't do yourself is the ECU reflash.

HYR in Redlands , its a little drive for you but they got mine running great , definitely recommend them , I also heard ZipTy in Hesperia does great work , they are a little drive but once its done , well you will find out .

ZipTy Racing......they were the Red Husky Factory outfit and are now the Wht Husky R&D shop. You want local SoCal for these bikes...thats the answer.

thanks for the info, I did call zip ty last thursday and left a message, I'll call them again, I'll post the results after the mods.

+1 ZipTy. Night and day difference from stock, also 40 to 50 on the rear and i can still hit 70 MPH to the pin.

Whats involved in decorking - Cat converter and exhaust sensor removal ?

The 4 corks that I know of are: 1)cat converter, 2) stop on throttle body that limits to about 3/4 throttle, 3) the injection and ignition tuning in the electronics , and 4) the air filter cage which is more of a labrynth baffle than it is a cage.

I drilled (5) 3/4" holes each wall of the filter baffle. Runs better at low & mid RPMs. Still feels restricted at upper R's.Next, I will take out the converter so it will breathe better at both ends.
