• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

this is a fun brilliant thread. (but always pray for no injury and never wish for ill will of course).
I'll go out on a limb say no crash for James this week. solid in the heat onto the main and a podium this time (he is getting his feet and hopfully his machine dialed in).
He's a tough guy but needs to gather his limits and contain that envelope, that's maturity in racing and imho he still lacks it even after all this time and championships. His limit switch is pinned to beyond the physical. That's what sorrowfully killed Simoncelli last year. James is a great show and for sure never bores the viewers, he's great to watch and I hope he can keep himself healthy all season, having him in the game really brings heavy game to the season.

close no? crash in practice (wrong about no crash) but solid in the heat P1 and onto the podium P3,
that was a real twister wreck in practice.

ooops crash is a crash/tipover/places lost etc.
Two-time champion James Stewart was running second when he fell on the 12th lap, and the Yamaha rider finished third. It was Stewart's first top-three finish in the last five races going back to last season.
sorry about Morais and Canard, glad both will recover that was ugly.

JS7 is looking faster all the time and right there. Drops the bike and still get a podium, he is right there. Poto is on another level. If he gets his starts squared away the championship can be his again.

RV needs to work on his second starts just like at Washougal. Hole shot the start and then a crappy start on the red flag restart. Definitely shows his speed - he was up to JS with three laps to go after being dead last after the start.

it is to bad... He always looks happy, smiles, and represents himself well.... I was hoping for a season podium for him...

It looked like JS7 was reprimanded. If I am not mistaking, he slowed way down and did not go for the win. When RV got close to him, he seemed to speed up a bit to hold the position.

I am also thinking the "revolutionary" Yami is not all is was supposed to be. It looks like he is having some trouble with the handling.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Kawi basically copied the '05-08 CRF, added FI and has a winning bike (and rider). While the new CRF seems pretty capable in the hands of a pro, but still funky. Meanwhile, the announcers are raving about the traditional frame of the KTM with these new choppy SX tracks. Old tech better?

Reprimanded??? Joe Gibbs speaking in his headset??? Having rode the 05 thru 09 CRF , they are quite simply amazing.....

I am not so sure about the backwards motor yamaha either, who even rides one besides bubba? I am thinking he did not even want to ride one but went with it just to get with JGR.

I also had an '05 CRF and loved that bike. That bike is probably responsible for switching thousands of people to 4 strokes.

Not reprimanded during the race. But during the week prior to the race. To me, it looked like JS7 was riding with a bit more control and slower speed. That is not typical for him. Unless he is maturing, it seems his team is reeling him in a bit.
