  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Jetting

Can anyone help out on the jettn for my 08 TXC510? I just bought it a few months ago and it has a sever hesitation on low end and has been dying in second gear in the tight rocky stuff. I go to throttle over a log and it just shuts off.... Been told it's the pilot jet being to 'lean'. I have the idle up, but it seems to be up to high for my likeing thogh..... Could it be the ????? Any help guys.... I believe there is a 180 and a 45 in the carb now!!

I have 93 octane gas and it had been in the 70,s here in PA. Not sure how many miles/hours on bike but I would beat it's less than 100miles....

Hey Dave, Not too much help with the jetting but interestingly I filled up with 95 Octane as the Servo did not have 98. Anyway, my 2010 TXC510 out of the crate would not idle properly, even when warm, and when I tried to give some revs it would stall alot. I was advised that I should bump the idle up, but to be honest it seemed pretty high to start with. I replaced the fuel with 98 and it seems to have fixed it. Although I should also note that I need to get the carb checked cause I only get 50km per tank and have run dry on the 60km enduro loops twice now. I can let you know the outcome when I get it looked at by the shop. I am hoping it is a jetting issue. Cheers. Jason.

Hey Dave, old thread I know, but did you get the 510 jetting sorted out? I had the same hesitation issue with mine and with a few changes got it running really well.

Yes, I got it running and it runs VERY well...... Cold blooded bugger though!!! Still hic-ups whens it's not completly warm. But it works GREAT!!! Now I'm on the hunt for a GOOD rear tire..... My Pirelli isn't cuttin it! Looking at the Motosportz..... :)
