  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

jetting for the athena 300 kit

Dwahl

Husqvarna
AA Class
I have been riding with the 300 for a while and when i go from half throtle to full there is a lag for about a second. Does anyone with experince with this know what size main jet i should get? or should i just get a randomly larger one and see how that feels. Also would getting larger main, pilot and leak be a start considering it probably needs more fuel across the entire power band? I have lowered the needle to the richest setting and that seemed to help but it still feels lean. Any thoughts or ideas would be nice. Thanks

Yes get the JD kit but get the one for the 2006-2007, do NOT get the 2005 kit it is incorrect !

I have the 2005 Te250 with the 300 kit with the 2005 JD kit & no problems so far but I'm still running the 1st tank out for break in & it's about 25 degrees here so interesting thread. What problems do you know about

coffee has a bunch of articles here on AP settings. i recomend the stock screw setting on the AP arm and safety wiring them together. been like that on mine since i brought it home.

hard bog = lean
burbble/gurggle = rich
identify which circuit has issues and adjust
lowering your needle LEANS it out, not richens it.

if things were fine before you upped CC's you should be very close so put it back to where it was and start over. then- go up one on the main and see how it flies, after, you verify every circuit is spotless clean and there are no vacuum leaks or any other issues.

my stock 07 TC 250 on grass w/ a new Scorpion 486 on the rear when i screw on the gas in second will literally flip over backwards if i dont pull the clutch in and stomp the back brake- even with a 14th uptite front sprocket (stock is 12th). baroooooooop! whoa!

Sorry I ment to say i raised the needle by lowering the clip. the jetting was out a little bit when I got it. did the jd jet kit make a big difference with the 300 kit?

The kit for the 2005s was not tested on any huskys but rather put together using ktm information and some people had trouble getting those to work right. The ktm was a long stroke motor and the husky is a short stroke motor. The 2006 kits were made from dyno runs, riding, & exhaust analyzers on several different huskys. I use the 2006 kit on my 2005 husky and it works really well, no stumble and hard to stall with plenty of power.
