• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Iv'e thrown the towel in!

Sorry guys, but I have had enough of the Strada. I bought a bike that I thought that would be my retirement bike, but with all the problems which are present with emissions and those bluddy valve checks have made me realised that its not the simple machine, what with the Moss tool which no one understands have left me to sell the machine.
Its got a full single exhaust system with foam air cleaner, rad cover, crash bars, new seat cover, red panels and front fender, screen and spoofer.
The more I think about it, if the right money came along I would let her go but the more I think about it the harder it becomes to go ahead and sell it DOH****************************************

I was in the same boat, I just want to ride my bike not have to do a bunch of mods to make it right. Traded mine in two weeks ago for a different bike with proper dealer support.

I've never ever not modded a bike new or used. I love this stuff. I got my bike for a bargain brand new. It had, Altrider crash bars, Altrider bash plate, BR Moto Racks and top rac and the Altrider regulator protector and I got it all for $5190 out the door. With a bargain like that I will stick with it.

I mainly check the obvious, like can i maintain it easily and did overlook that many bike designers these days do not see the world of bike ownership like we do, I should have realised that times have changed even in the work place I am constantly bombarded with young ideas that are not feasable to manufacture. ( I work in an R&D enviroment).
Today, many designs do not incorparate sensible normal servicing, designers bikes take on a whole new meaning!

I'm just glad I veered away from the TR650 to the Nuda. It cost £1000 more for an ex. demo machine but I can't praise this bike highly enough. though it still needed a AF-XIED to get it to run sweetly. It's much easier to strip down and work on than the 650! (from what I've seen on here)

All bikes are coming stock with extremely lean afr's because of the ever tightening smog laws. Just check some of the other bike threads. Everyone is bitchin about the same things. Rough idel, running hot, stalling and list goes on.

OK I'll bite. Why are you even posting this here? You're not the first TR650 owner who's been unhappy with their bike and told us about it. In fact we've read the same stuff from people who haven't even bought the bike as well. Why are you sorry? Why apologise to us? It makes not an ounce of difference to any of us whether you keep or sell your TR. Are you trying to make us feel bad? There are hundreds of threads in this forum and others dealing with the pros and cons of TR ownership. You're preaching to the converted, or the unconverted, or trying to deconvert, or waiting for someone to reconvert you or just looking for moral support from other people who also want to sell/have sold?

The new yamaha sr400's look like a lot of fun. I bet they run right out the door too

Wonder if they would make a scrambler version?
