  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

It's official. I pick up my TE 449 next Thursday!

Where's that :jealous: smilie when you need it?

Ah, here it is:

Just kidding - that's totally sick news!. Don't forget that we'll be requiring pictures and whatnot...

Why not a 511? dont need the extra power off road , but on road its kind of nice. Just curious

A 449 will likely kill me. A 511 will kill me into pieces so small I will be unrecognizable at my wake.

It's going to be primarily a woods bike for places I ride that I have to use roads to transition. I'm tired of worrying about how I'll outrun cops and game wardens. I'll be on roads about 2% of the time. Don't need a 511.

Your just doing your part to help the economy recover :applause: Looking forward to a ride report and photo's.

Rest assured.
Cool thing is, I had a trip to PA planned for almost a year to be with family this Easter. Everything about this bike purchase just fell into place... kinda like destiny. One day, outta the blue, I call my buds Scott and Chris at Toy Tech to chat about Husky stuff and I learn there's a 449 on the showroom floor. Then, what's left of my brain immediately starts spinning. Then...in a day or 3... I'm buying a 449 from Toy Tech!!! Sometimes the planets align!

BTW, those bikes are CRAP, read it in that there interwebs way before the bike came out. :D

Yeah, I read all that $hit. As much as I hate to admit it, I still visit the "OFP" (Other F'ing Place) a few times per week. The "knowledge base" and "conduct" over there reminds me of a bunch of drunk 16 year olds arguing about who's got the biggest...
... nevermind...

You crack me up!

Didn't you just buy a new Husky last week?. Congratulations on the new bike, if you want to break it in even more, stop by Berkeley Springs WV on the way home and I can introduce you to some good single track. You can also read into that, I want to take a spin on it.

HomeFinance is correct, the CR 150 is the latest addition to the stable. Maybe permanent... it's that good.
Now, if only I could replace this mold-green, smelly, heavy, stinky, inferior, under-engineered, Jap KX with a comparable Husky....

Gotta watch the boys at Toy Tech......They suck you right in! Just got me again a few weeks ago!

Toy Tech and Upstate Cycle are the epitome of "Mom and Pop" bike shops! One, two, or three man operations, bending over backwards to satisfy their customers. Down to Earth people who don't mind spending extra time on the phone to answer all your (my) stupid questions. Shops like these are, sadly, a dying breed. I will GLADLY pay extra (but seldom have to) to keep these guys in business. When I walk into a big dealership, it takes me about 2 nanoseconds to realize what a treasure I have in Toy Tech and Upstate. I would WALK to these dealers if I had to.

Amen. I must have called Scott and Chris ten times before I bought my WR 300 with all kinds of stupid questions! They really go out of their way to make sure you leave happy, and with empty pockets...
