The exhaust shield on the Leo looks good
As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
The exhaust shield on the Leo looks good
Thanks, Organ. Thought of having back the exhaust shield after installing the Leo.That one has turned out a beaut! Has set off the exhaust nicely which, on the original looked too dominant on mine.
I had thought about powder coating, along with anodizing the can bodies, but I might keep a little bit of silver... The plate is a plastic one from Hyde Racing. I don't plan on slamming it into any rocks or logs, just wanted to keep flying gravel and such off of the frame and case.cool dog, nice bike. you could powder coat the rims. where did you get the skid plate?
Thanks! Just a couple cans of Plasti Dip...and very time consuming, careful preparation.
To do the rims right, you un-lace them and get them powder coated. I don't know how plasti-dip would look, you'd have to touch it up after tire changes too.I think the black wheels look sweet...did you tape every spoke and then spray the plasti-dip? Any advise for me on your experience taping them would be great so I don't start from scratch.
Anybody think it would look bad to dip both the rims and spokes?
(ignore the mess, I'm always working on something in the shop...)

Ya I was wondering if you used the PLASTI DIP GLOSSIFIER as well For the last coat? Also did you use regular black or flat black?? Thanx!!

Ahh ok, the 630 light is much better than the 610 light, but it's far from good. I added 4000 lumens of LEDs in the sidepods tied into the high beam circuit with a relay.
