  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Issues with '13 WR300

Interesting thread ... And I have a Husky 250cc 2t bike also~

My 08 250 just kicks a$$ every ride ... I did have to replace a CDI or some ELECT box when I first got it .. And a bracket or 2 have broken both on their own and in crashes .. But after a yr of riding and racing here, that bike gave almost zero real issues and is the ~same bike engine wise as when I got it I'd guess ... It feels like the suspension has settled some, probably from all that racing and jumping ...Still turns pretty good out in the providences so no problems there..

This might be another point about a 2t bike that is superior to the 4t bikes ... My bike needs a smaller pilot jet or something as it will loads badly at a specific RPM range ... Something like this might be really bad on a 4t bike ... But on this 250cc 2t bike, it's almost a non-event ... I just don't run the engine at that RPM ... I might be losing something some where due to this off-jetting, but this bike feels like a screamer bike waiting to happen ...

About my favorite WR250 pic ... Ayen, the guy riding my bike, really had to get some clutch action going to come out of that corner and clear that short double..

Keep the 610 and get a 300. I have both and its the best of both worlds!

Ive got an 06/610 - and an 11 WR300.

My 300 engine detonated at 600klm and was covered under warranty - new motor.
My 610 had electrical issues but has been mechanically flawless.

610 has now been retired to ADV with a 20L tank 15/45 gearing, Giant loop and big light for those big rides and the 300 is a single trail, log jumping weapon.

Is that a YZ450F front guard on your 300? i would be interested in changing mine

Kind of an old thread there tangle. YZ fender is a common mod on the ITA huskys. I like the older version more than the current one. It's a little old school, but not as much as the stock fender.
Yes Mate - Yami front fender. Cheap easy replacement found at the local motorcycle store.
