• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

E3 is in the race,

GUILLAME Sebastien is leading the Husky squad

Caselli looks unbeatable, after stage 5, GUILLAME remains ahead of Husky riders with Oblucki far away behind on the 28th overall position.
Cervantes improves by 1, Salminen still behind on the 9th.
Dietrich is doing fine.

Merriman is riding in familira ground and has reached the 4th overall

after special test 4 (E1 so far) (3 was recon) Ricky Dietrich is overall leader,
seems like dust and dry conditions suit better the american style......

live results here http://www.isde2008-live.gr/

The Web Site Is Down.... at least the "Live" page gives html code, this page works:
http://www.isde2008.gr/web/index.php?id=54

In the xls participant list it shows
421 USA 7 86 SMITH Ben AMA JUNIOR KTM 250 1/7/1986 4017183 4T E1

Any updates on Ben Smith? Still riding a Husqvarna or did he switch to ktm?

You seem to be our only link at the moment to what is happening.

Ben finished 59th today out 76 riders with 2 retired. He is listed on a Husky in results. He rides a KTM at home, so his entry would reflect that. I'm pretty sure that when he was called up late, to replace the injured Josh Morros, that KTM no longer had rental bikes availible. If he impounded a Husky, he has to ride that bike, even if KTM could have pulled one out of thin air this morning. USA Junior Trophy Team is in 13th out of 16th place. Husqvarna Manfacturers Team which includes US GNCC rider Australian Glenn Kearney is in 4th place.
Norman

Bad news for Junior team.........Ryan Powel (YAM) hit a hole and dislocated shoulder, finished the test with one arm and shoulder still out, popped it back in but the next couple uphills it wanted to come out and it finally came out again thus ending his six days. As you know, best 3 out of 4 riders scores count so the USA throwaway is thrown away. Over 10 minutes behind leaders and not looking good for the juniors. (13th) Trophy team in 3rd and easily in striking distance and Casselli is fastest overall.

PS Ben Smith is on a TE250 in E1 Class

Special Stage 1, Day 2

and the show goes on,
later on i will send photos.
Salminen is back on the race and gets the stage, but Kurt Caselli has the overall with a safe distance for the day.
Seems like stronger bikes will have the advantage during the race, since the average speed is high.
1st on stage for E1 cat is Dietrich with an amazing Kawasaki (performs very well).
So far GUILLAME stays on 4th overall with his Husky 300.

Stage 5 and Caselli leads with no difficulties ahead of Salminen who looks to be on a good pace.
Cervantes climbed on 4th overall, better riding today as i saw.
Dietrich is on 7th (my favorite for the race)
Still lots of dust all over the place, the stages are much harder due to over 2000 passes at the same place.
lots of photos in the webmaster's mailbox

Caselli just got a 1 min penalty due to exit from Special Stage.
In 4th, with Guillame climbing 3rd (Husky rulez)

As i was watching the start of MX stage, i have to say that the best behavior on bumps was from stock Huskys in comparison to any other stock bikes.

If you (or anyone else) wants to start a new thread or even multiple threads to sort out all these pictures by day, event, etc - and maybe filter out what are extremely similar pictures please feel free.

Open up 2 browser windows, one with the new thread(s) and one with this thread.
"quote" the posts of interest but don't submit, rather copy and paste into the new thread in the other browser window, and take out the parts you don't want.

My fingers are a little tired of clicking the mouse LOL

.

Fantastic pics a race coverage guys! Kudos to you. I would love to be there, if for nothing else than to walk around in park ferme with all those bikes. Makes me all jiggly inside. Surely that is what heaven will be like. :D

Guerrero has lost a lot of time and is now in 6th place.
salminen os now the leader with Guillame 2nd (Husky rulez)
