• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

could the admin let me upload a bit bigger photos???

This is the Admin - using a TEST account trying to see what the limits are...

I'm really really really really sorry - had NO clue they were set so small... no one said anything before. I'll get right on it.

EDIT - I've removed all limits for picture sizes and set the file sizes to 100K which is a 6x increase.... what file sizes are you putting up? 100k good enough? I hate to go larger than 100k for performance reasons... Feel free to email to webmaster@cafehusky.com attachments and I'll re-work them, put them on photobucket, and post them.

EDIT2 - the attached picture of the shark is 91kb, 1024x768. Clicking on it will bring up an 'over lay' window view with a downsized pic. Clicking on that downsized pic will open a new browser window (or "tab" in Fire Fox) automatically sized for your browser window - clicking on that pic in the new window displays full size.

At least that is how it is working on my end, I'll keep testing with other computers and browsers e.g. Internet Explorer.

:)

Delighted to do it. Hosting those directly on this site would have had a significant increase in the database size, I'll let photobucket do the job.

I'm not sure what order to put them in so I'll just toss them up.

Thanks to Dean and Meletis! Too cool! Mike Kay.... That Iveco truck has to be your next rig! I believe that's Junior Trophy Team Rider Ben Smith(last minute replacement for the injured Josh Morros) on the Husky with the UpTite shirt. Ben's uncle is Drew Smith, owner of Works Enduro Rider(W.E.R.) and ISDE rider of great repute. He and George Erl are old buddies and when Ben got the last minute call and decided his best bet was to rent a Husky, George came through with a care package of UpTite parts and tech advice for Ben. Lucky for Ben, another Husky guru and ISDE vet is in attendance to advise him... Jay Hall of Halls Husky.

Jay is on the left and Ben is on the right?

Husky people are unbelievably cool people (hence CH was created).

Thank you George!

Dean,
Right on both counts! Jay is no doubt telling Ben that the auto-retract on the side stand is a pain in the @$$.

Good morning everybody, its 06:30 local time and we are ready for the day 1 of the race.
454 riders will start 08:00 for the 1st special test (MX).
US team was working all day to setup bikes (container delay)
Lots of dust but the liaisons and the special tests are amazing, God might rain soon.

Will send photos of the special tests later on since I am involved in the start today.

I wish a good race for everybody.

Thanks once again for the photos. I'll keep an eye on the email inbox, it is 830 pm here now in California on Sunday night.

So the container finally made it? At some point it would be great to find out which Husky bike is being ridden - TE/TC/TXC... Good luck Ben!

Kurt Caselli is so far the overall leader with all the usual suspects following by far.
No accidents or problems so far, high humidity and dust have created a "fog'' all over the mountain and the circuit Special test

photos soon

after special test 4 (E1 so far) (3 was recon) Ricky Dietrich is overall leader,
