  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

is the 2011 TC449 really that bad!?!?

Hey all so a TC449 came up locally for sale. (2011 mod. for $3800 AUD) and it really caught my eye. It looks so sleek and nice. I looked up some reviews and people diss them so hard!!! Why is this!?!? I looked up youtube videos and most videos of them, they are hauling @ss around the MX tracks!!! Does anyone own one? Do you think it's bad? Why is this!?!?! I would own one in a heart beat!! Also, i know just by looking at the capacities, the 449 will be quicker but how much faster will a 449 be than my 2013 cr125? Will a 449 destroy me, coming off of my 125?

The bike mags aren't good at being objective. If you love your other Huskies, you'll dig a 449. A good portion of the members on this site with 449 live in OZ.

Ah OK cheers. Yeah first time I got a husky it defiantly did feel different to my Hond . But now I love them! A fellow wants go swap his 2011 449 for my 2013 CR125 but I'm not too sure what to do yet.

Stock, i think the '11 449 needs some work. Some mods are cheap and easy, others (PCV) take some money. But after its a great bike.

Oh ok yeah, i'm worried if i swap my CR it'll be too big for me to handle.

well, that *might* be a concern. it won't hit like the cr (it'll pull steady) but when tuned right: a frikken starship. controllable, but fast.

like I said... I bought my 310 because my sons 511 was so hairy to hold on to above 5000rpms.

The nice thing about the TC is that it has a different throttle body with smoother flow and no second butterfly. It also has different cams for more MX style power delivery.

TCs also miss out on 6th gear from the transmission(compared to the TE)
Ok around an mx track, but will reduce top speed if riding in the open.
As mentioned above, engine tuning much better than the TE series.

Ah ok thanks for that. Still considering whether to go with it or not, it will be 2 years older but i guess the technology will be far better, considering 2 strokes haven't really evolved much.
