• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Is compulsive buying of old Huskies a recognised disease

Bengt Husky

Husqvarna
AA Class
Added another beauty to the growing stable of twinshock huskies.

1982.5 Silverstreak. Went all the way to Norway to collect her. A 2,247 mile round trip.

This is what I came back with along with a huge credit card bill for 370 litres of diesel fuel..

As far as I can tell the only thing that has been changed since it left the factory are the throttle, brake lever, bars and the barrel has been painted black...

Can anyone else spot anything that isn't original. I even got the original handbook.

yes, it is most certainly a disease! thats a fairly rare bike, nice pick up...its contagious as well....

Recognized? Not by trained medical professionals; but we can spot you a mile away!!

Nice looking bike.

hi steve, as you probably know original throttle was a magura version of the gunner gasser.....mine went straight in the bin and put a GG on. Original bars were quite low and black i think rather than the gold of the 82 430...front brake lever was full length magura designed by a Certain Mr King Kong.... rear brake lever looks original....apart from that looks good... always found my silver streak far less ,shall we say tempremental to jetting than my 82 430 ... guess the 44mm mikuni covered all the bases.. good luck!

Cheers Mate,

The owner gave me the original black low bars. The throttle on it is a magura. It doesnt have a pull wheel like the GG's it has like a geared wheel. I thought it was probably an aftermarket one ?

I dont know now whether to ride her or put it in the lounge on a plinth ? If I race her, I will need to remove a lot of the original parts and store them away for later....especially the tank.

polish and put it on the lounge room table. belt the credit card for a rider that's a bit knocked around...that's a museam piece, hate to see it all dull and scratched and dinted ....imagine if you flipped it:eek:.....pull the plug out so you cant even start it!

I think your thought process is rational.
You need.more old Huskies.
It's a great looking bike - enjoy

Great find, better put that one in your living room museum .

See if your wife can find some castrol 2stroke candles to burn while you watch it all night.

Yes it is a disease just ask my wife!!! there is no known cure and everyone that has it doesn't care to be cured.Nice bike.
