As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
the RIDER must have a lot to do with it because We put Dalton stock 2010 TC250 on Scott powersport dyno few weeks ago,I wanna to knowThe press release may be quoting hp at the crank not the rear wheel.
I have a Barrett slip on and I have a dead spot. Had the carb re-jetted and bike dynoed. I was told a Iridium plug will cure that. Have you heard anything about that?So how did you guys go with jetting changes on the older 610's to improve your ride?
My '06 610 rides ok though i bet it could be woken up a bit via the carb. Already have a Barret slip-on.
Cheers.
poor excuse for improper jetting,, what rpm range is the dead spot? Does it happen going slow through the RPM range or when you quick whack the throttle? What exactly is a dead spot in your terms? sorry about the thread jack..I have a Barrett slip on and I have a dead spot. Had the carb re-jetted and bike dynoed. I was told a Iridium plug will cure that. Have you heard anything about that?
So did much needed to be done to your jetting? I'd guess my is still standard.Had the carb re-jetted and bike dynoed......
This is what was done out of the box. This is what has been done to my SM610: Oversize piston 98mm@12.5:1, new cam, ported head, re-jetted & a Barrett carbon fiber pipe. Dyno'ed 56.2 hp. If anyone wants, I'll try to post the dyno sheet. Work done by: Fast By Ferrachi.
Mate, if you look at other motorbikes, such as the CCM R30, it has an AIR COOLED lump that puts out nearly 60 bhp. Similar to the Honda XR650R, again Now tell me, how does Husqvarna manage to get only 45 bhp out of a high tech liquid cooled race bike? The 610 is based on the 570 which is an out and out race bike.
Here is the link to the CCM:
