• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Injector issues?

Anyone needed to replace the injector. I seem to be having problems - experienced it once before and pulled it and cleaned it successfully but the problem seems to have returned and the same treatment has not worked (spraying carb cleaner through it under pressure with a syringe). I will try again and also check the fuel pump - it is cycling up but am wondering about blocked filter or not making enough pressure to activate the injector effectively. I will check this as well with injector in place in the TB.

I was also wondering whether anyone has replaced their injector with a 10/12 hole version, as opposed to the standard 4 hole. These are the same size and come standard on some of the smaller Huskies - I recall discussion on Thumper Talk and possibly discussed here on other threads?

What are the symptoms? I'm also experiencing some issues, but I'll make a new thread of it :) haven't had any injector problems yet...

OK problem sorted. Symptoms were that it started spluttering and missing on a ride this past weekend. Would not rev-up and would die on one. Ascertained not a spark problem but fuel - was getting fuel through though ... guessed injector. Pulled the injector and cleaned and tested it. Refitted and still no joy. Checked it in position and it was not misting.Pulled the fuel pump and there was the problem staring me right in the face! Pickup hose had fractured. I guess it really should have had a zip-tie holding it to the bracket so it was not pulling at an angle to the spigot creating a pressure point where it ruptured.

Good pick up, your initial thoughts were logical and subsequent further enquiry squared the issue away. I am now attuned to this potential issue, so thank you.
