  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

IMS tank

Anyone know the range of the IMS 2.9 gal tank on a TE310? Getting ready for the LA-B-LV this november and the longest stretch is 85 miles:thumbsup: . Need to cover that and have some for a backup. This is the only aftermarket tank I've found for the bike also. Any others?

Unless I'm not seeing it, what year bike?

On my 2010 I went over 140 with out the low light coming on, but I was at 8k ft.

2012 TE310. This is the 30th anniversary of the LA-B-LV and alot of good talk is going on about the route and festivities. Number of people limited to 500 this time, and get a hotel in Barsto EARLY**************************************** The hotel that is the stopping/starting point is already sold out. We had to get the next hotel over. Sign up on line.

My 510 gets horrible mileage. I have IMS 2.9 and my range when "on it" is about 80. I always carry an empty plastic water bottle just in case. My friend is urging us to sign up for that ride. I usually like to lounge a lot over the holiday. 430 am 250 mile ride....maybe next year lol

Trying to swap the tank out now, but the fuel line connections inside the tank to disconnect the fuel pump are causing an issue. Anyone know how to disconnect those lines?

Holy cow that tank is tight****************************************! If you are going to put an IMS tank on your TE310/250 you will need to invest in a few small tube clamps for the crossover tube on the fuel tank. The new tank comes with a new line that is small in diameter on the outside than the original. Also make sure you know how to disconnect the "quick disconnect" fuel lines between the fuel pump and the outlet of the fuel lines to the FI system. Plus I would highly recommend the Zip Ty racing metal elbow for the fuel line. The elbow must be turned almost straight forward in order NOT to hit the frame, and the plastic elbow would tend to break, in my opinion. I'm glad I already had the metal elbow installed. This tank is TIGHT****************************************! Need to get the new clamps before I put fuel in it and try it out. Plus a new CA-Cycleworks fuel pump was installed so there's alot of testing to be done this weekend.
