• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

IMS Tank for TE630

Kevin2735

Husqvarna
B Class
For what it is worth, I e-mailed IMS asking if they had any plans for a TE630 tank option. The following is the response:

While we do not have any official plans to produce anything for this
model, it is always a possibility for the future. The honest truth is that
we do not receive many requests for this model. If you know of a lot of
people who want a tank for this bike, such as on a forum, it is always
helpful to drum up support in that area, and then send us a link to the
thread, which can be reviewed by our management for consideration. Just a
thought, anyway!

I think I would go this route if it were at least 4.5 gallons and in the sub $500 price point. The Safari looks great, but I am on a budget and it is just to pricey for me.

I'd be on board for a 4.5-5 gallon tank at IMS prices. I think that's just about the right size for range, weight, etc. Maybe if we get enough folks posting on this thread, IMS will reconsider.

4 1/2 to 5 gl tank would definately be of interest for me. Also ensure that the factory side panels could be fastened to the tank for a factory look. In addition, the factory locking gas cap and filler could be used to minimize any fuel tampering risk.

Where can I order one now??

5 gallons, >$500

Use stock shrouds would be ideal but not a deal breaker.

George was working on an external fuel pump to use with the 610 carb model. But it looked like an aluminum cannister stuck on the side of the motor. Some pics posted somewhere recently, can't recall. No thanks, I'll go with the pax-mount setup and pour the fuel into the stock tank.

I will be on board for this too, would like to retain the stock shrouds if possable

4.5-5 gallons would be nice if it was under $500. I don't need more than that and I don't feel like spending 700-800.

So, 8 owners probably isn't enough to warrant developing a tank, but 8 in one day should tell them that half of the bikes sold would probably get retro-fitted with one if it was an option.

Besides, if I'm not mistaken they just have to modify the mold for the old 610 tank to accomodate the fuel pump for FI on the 610/630's.

I would think they could sell a couple hundred tanks and have a mold that is 90% already complete. I don't know the details, but it seems IMS could at least reconsider their original decision not to make a tank for the 610/630 efi bikes.

Thumbs up!

No bigger than 4.5 gallons, must be black and accept the stock shrouds and look damn near close to stock. Do that and they'll get my attention.

In their line of thinking, it's a discontinued bike. I can understand IMS not choosing to produce a tank for the fuel injected bikes.
I did send an e-mail with a link to this post, though.
