• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I was thinking they made the big 610 look like one of those little fat tire things. Awsome pics and story as usual WoodsChick. That one looking down the hill at you guys coming up looked pretty gnarly :notworthy:

 You mean like these?

Glad you enjoyed the story. We had a great time and I'm really looking forward to the trip to Nevada. Hopefully I'll have a good story to tell
(minus the lost rider) when I get back.

Yeah, that uphill was exciting for me. It must have been noteworthy or Eric wouldn't have stopped to take photos. Usually we return from a ride and I've taken 150 photos and he's taken 3 or 4:excuseme:

G.O.T.T, I was trying to think how long have I been waiting for this ride/ setup report?
Half a year now? More? Less?

Tell you what; good things come to those who wait…
As usual you produce the goods; excellent report, pics and follow up :applause:

I’ve converse in the past to DRZ and DR650’s owners how did this setup and ever since I’ve got the 610sm I wondered what it would be like doing it with the right machine
Clearly it’s a blast and a viable/ cheap alternative for us SMers and good god does it look awesome, about the only thing it misses is some of Mr. motorsportz snazzy disc break protectors (in SM size of course…-->;);))
And If there was only a way to adopt the Christini all wheel drive to the frame…:D

I enjoyed this thread immensely, can’t wait to hear more about the setup and see more pictures with the 5 gal. tank
Just so you’ll know, when TW200’s have a wet dream; your wildebeest is what they dream of:smirk:

On a side note, just between you, me and Coffee…
Thinking about the SM stiff forks and all the bouncing around that you mast have endured I ‘m beginning to think that in your title (which I think is very cool by the way:busted:) a ALL instead of THE will work better, at least in acronym…
(and I’m not talking about those measly domesticated ones, more of those wild, powerful northern ones…)
What do you think Woods?

What do I think?? I think you crack me up!!

JFTR, the purchase date on my knobbies was June 21st, and I probably didn't mention them til a short time later, so it's been less than 5 months, Mr. Impatient:p

I do think it looks pretty damned cool, which is just a bonus for me. I'm not into keeping my bikes really pretty (sorry Kelly:D) as functionality is much more important to me. I've had bikes with disc guards and bikes without, and I've never bent a disc at all, which is surprising, really, when you consider my bikes are all lowered and I love riding in rocks. I'd rather save the weight and money, and if it does go bad I'll deal with it then. The old saying "only insure what you can't afford to lose" is my guiding light in this decision. Kelly's bling does look good, though:thumbsup:

I've got the 5gal tank on, and I'm going to take it on a test ride today down to the local shop (Berkeley Honda/Yamaha) to pick up a spare tube. Maybe I'll take a few photos before I wash it. I think I'll ride it dirty to the shop, though. It always gets a lot of attention there and I think Scott (he's the guy with the scraped up nose helping out Mouse McCoy in Dust To Glory) gets kinda tweaked when it's parked in front of his door:p

The idea that my 610 could play a starring role in wet dreams (for TW's and others) is not a foreign concept to me, if ya know what I mean;)

As far as my new "title," well, that is obviously up to our Fearless Leader. I do like the acronym better, although it is usually reserved for some other short (albeit much more talented) redhead:)

I'm going to Nevada for 6 days over Thanksgiving, and I'm going to be joined by my friend with a new TE610, so there should be more Husky content to my next ride report.

Scott is a fantastic guy! Yes he was crew chief for Mouse in Dust to Glory and he in the film at about 8:30 as I recall... They even had the Baja bike in the show room for a while.

Tell him hi for me. He sold me a CRF230 fall 2005 for my son, I even showed it to him after I put a Trick Dual Sport kit on the bike.
