• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I'm out of commission for a while...

"Have you considered a Husky? The entire TE line is 50 state street-legal..."

This led to 10 minutes of the Husky rebirth and it's purchase by BMW, which really opened his eyes. He pulled out his prescription pad, tears off a sheet and writes down cafehusky.com and sticks it in his pocket!

Truly awesome.

I can hear it now. "Is there a doctor in the house?"

Life is like a box of chocolates... and so are forums.

Great story about your doc. My surgeon doesn't ride, but isn't anti-bike either. He supports my riding and my ultimate frisbee league activities. And he has a personality which I think is rare for an orthopedic surgeon!

Depends on the story that goes w/it! Or if you can make a cool tattoo out of it.

Almost every one of my scars came via motorcycles, but not every one has a good story attached to it.

I wanted to tattoo a ziper pull on the front of my knee after my first ACL reconstruction, but the scar was disappointingly small. I was slightly bummed about that...

Sorry to hear you're layed up BA. My husband broke his ankle two weeks before we were going to do a week long dual sport ride on the MCCCT. I forgave him...eventually!;)

Oh, BTW, the Doc is doing the surgery tommorow, Wed. 1/7. ;)

Hope your surgery went well Gary. We'll compare scars (12/17 rotator cuff) on the WNC Husky / ADV ER rides.
Mid-Atlantic riders: I can get two more Huskies on the trailer. Ping me if you're interested in attending either event. The western NC mountains won't disappoint ...

Dudes do indeed appreciate warrior women! :awww: My wife has been playing soccer for most of her 52 yrs. She's acquired some interesting bodywork along the way. :notworthy: Soon after we met in 87 I attended one of her indoor games. She got cheap-shotted early on, the other woman disappeared over the barrier late in the game.

Bring some discs down to Joe's gig gandalf!!! :D

I feel your pain BentAero - literally. Three ACL recons for me, all motorcycle related - but hey - do stuff, get hurt :cripple:

Hope the surgery went well and heal up fast! Rehab - and don't rush getting back on the bike.

Best!
