  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I'm dumb....Carb Question

Hello,
This will probably be a really stupid question to a lot of you, but I want to clarify. Do the carbs on our Husky's have adjustable Leak Jets in the carbs (meaning removable jets that can be adjusted) OR is it a "false"/stationary Leak Jet that is simply occupying space and/or acts more like a plug? I am asking this because I am curious if the Merge Racing Adjustable Leak Jet bolt-on piece would be of any value to me? If the ALJ is not an option for us, then do you think the Boyesen QuickShot piece would help (I used them on my Honda CRF's in the past with good and noticeable success)? Just with all the recent talk about jetting issues and starting issues, I'm just trying to take the carb to it's full potential (of course after the obvious jetting issues are solved). Sorry if it's confusing and not making sense...

I had the Merge racing deal on my 08 TXC and it worked great. Recommended.

They can be removed, and changed. It is the one in the bottom of the bowl.

In addition you can adjust the AP squirt quite easily by adding or removing O-rings from the AP linkage. I did a write up a while back, and I should probably repeat that information on cafe husky at some point.

Here is a video on how to re-jet a carb, just to be crystal clear where the jets are.

carb

a properly setup carb won't need a boysen quick shot.:thumbsup: the video on here is great. fine tuning the carb is the best. might take a ride or two to dial it to the razors edge.....but well worth it.

where does that go ? (that blue anodised thing ? ) .. i think in relation to other bikes and quads ive had, my husky is one of the best carbied bikes ive had.. no bog never and pulls like a train ! .. quite good...but still like to try and cock it up by touching it ! ..lol.

yes but the external adjustably is very nice for fine tuning at different temps and altitudes. Works well.

The blue thing replaces the accelerator bowl and makes the leak jet adjustable. Varies the amount of fuel in each squirt.
