• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I'm baaack... Don't say I didn't warn you.... :-)

I'm back... :-) After a disastrous relationship where I had to sell my 2006 TE610 to finance the bloody lawyers
This one :

I've finally recovered and 'got's me' another!! :-)

Now, I could've sucked it in and bought a 630, but I have a long love affair with the carburettor 610's, and this one is the last of them.

Seems things have changed 'round these parts a bit while I've been gone! :-) I just have a couple of questions if the brains trust doesn't mind???

My 'new' 2007 has 20,000klm's on it. I intend to pretty much rebuild it with new bearings/seals/consumeables from the ground up. I got it for a song, the poor bloke selling it was going through a marriage break up... Ouch, deja vu and all that... I almost felt guilty.

What needs replacing?? I'll replace the cam chain, piston and freshen up the valves. What are you blokes getting in terms of mileage from your big ends and rods?? At what intervals are you doing big end replacements? Where I live now, breakdowns are a big event. Think one of the remotest parts of Australia where towns are 4 hours apart...

Anything else you would consider inspecting/changing?

Also, I see IMS has a 5 gallon tank now? I had a BIG IMS tank on my 2006 but it was like carting Exxon Vladez around. Anyone got pics of the current IMS on there bike?? IMS web site has zip.

I know Safari Tanks here in Australia has a big tank, but I didn't want to carry a really big tank, something in between suits....

I can't remember what gearing I settled on. 45/15 or something??? What's the norm?

I'm stoked. Excited. My last 610 pulled like a train and never failed to make me smile..

Over to you, brains trust!

I like the roads sign arrows that point downward ... We got them here also ...You know you are not in Kansas any more seeing that on a road sign ...

Welcome back.

Was indeed curious what may have happened to you.

Yes things changed a bit on Cafe Husky, change has a way of happening.

I like your choice, I am more of a carb guy at the moment.

Thanks mate!

There is something about Husqvarna's... I just can't get them out of my blood.

Like Volkswagens... no matter how many I build from the ground up and lose money on when I sell 'em. I still have this uncanny urge to get another. Glutton for punishment?
Ooops, shouldn't have said that. My TE's been stone cold reliable and just may be looking over my shoulder... again

Oh crap, too late...
