  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

If they pass smog laws on motorcycles.....

Yeah same here. I'm looking at decatting my 2012 TE511, and would love to have a spare stock muffler around in case the califorinazis pass a smog law on bikes. Shooting down the last smog bill for bikes was about one of the only good things the Governator did for the state..haha

I've got my stock pipe still. Depending on where you are, shipping could be a bunch. That sucker is heavy!
Well, I'm in Modesto, CA (Central california). The shipping from FMF themselves (which they are in S Cali) was only $21, which I thought was pretty reasonable...and the nice part is that it's already on its way and should be here tomorrow..:)

Oh, I was going to note...See you are in Yucca Valley...I was stationed in 29 Palms for 3 years in the marines...I used to love going 4 wheeling in Joshua Tree National Monument....I could imagine how fun it would be to bike out there.
Congrats on the new silencer. I have been very happy with FMF. Depending on track or the ride i can swap out the Quite insert, spark or not. Do not forget to run Race MAP 2 or an external tuner with the new Silencer. I have not followed the thread on the 2012 models much, on the 2011 with a new free flow silencer will cause the bike to run leaner then it already is!

JT is now a National Park. I use to Ride up to the Pinto Mt area many years ago. Not anymore.
Riding is good at sun fair next to copper mt small area and Johnson Valley OHV Area is still good. Unless the Marines take most of Johnson for base expansion

Damn...it's not like that base isn't big enough as it is! haha And bummer on JT...

But on the bike...I already run race map II, and I have a JD tuner already in it, so I definitely don't/won't have an issue with being lean. I had to run those to even get my bike to run ok stock..:(
