• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Ibeat software and cable

I dont know enough about it to comment. The plug on the cable in the picture looks exactly like the plug on my Husky. I offered him $200. He countered with $250. I, since the offer, put the power up kit on my bike and as far as I am concerned, done with my tuning. It runs perfect. If he comes back and offers it up to me at $200, which he might, I will buy it and check it out. I think it should come in the tool kit with the bike straight from the showroom.

We should have went in together on it. Mine has not been hooked up to IBeat since it left the factory(The dealer didn't have IBeat yet when I bought my bike). I would like to hook mine up and play with it. Next time call me. Later, Ken

Could the cable owner post some photos of the cable? If we could get a pin map of the wires it should be pretty easy to duplicate.

Not as easy as you may think, the dongle is where the problem will hit

That likely violates the end user license agreement for the software. I know it violates all the EULA's of the software I produce and almost all commercial software I've ever seen.:ride:

EULA is violated when changes are made to the system. You can make something to view, but as soon as it modifies - agreement broken

One bummer is that you need a computer with a serial port and although I am not very savy, I think most newer laptops are all USB. I read somewhere that the software runs best on XP as well. That could be very unreliable information though.

XP Yes, it doesn`t like Vista,
Just buy a quality adaptor & the USB works fine

Well, I haven't read the EULA and maybe you have, but most commercial software only allows you to make one copy of the software for backup purposes. Sometimes they allow you to also use an additional copy on another computer that belongs to you as long as you are not using in on both computers at the same time. My only point is that before you share a copy of the disk on a public site, you might want to read the EULA to make sure you aren't in violation and then handle accordingly(not in public).

I am thinking the EULA doesn't allow you to just duplicate the software for use with any cable be it homemade or purchased. If it did, they'd just produce it to work only read only(demo mode) and make you pay for a serial number to open up the write mode.

I'm running Ibeat on Vista Business no problem at all on a HP laptop.
Have also used ECU reflash tool on same machine without issue.
