• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

im aware this is potentially in the wrong spot but i never look in the classifieds and chances are most of you come straight to " left kickers anyway "

one of these years i would like to own an auto . prolly not a smaller one . a 500 ae would be cool . or the water cooled 430 . i am in nz but have a shiping container in california . so a whole bike is ideal .

or would settle for an engine from the rest of the world .
im not desperate or gunna bust out the gold card for what someone thinks is worth 5 figures
even something that is a bit scruffy . bike will be a rider not a loungeroom

thanks team

Must look at "ad hunters " ( craigslists) or eBay motors USA or Mark vintage swapmeet ( send an add).
I've found my ae motors by this way.

Welcome from Chch - I am down here as well. Craigslist might be a good place to start. How do you get money to a seller in the US, get a bike inspected etc? I ran into these problems a couple of years ago so I gave up.

i guess paypal solves alot of money issues and somewhat covers dishonesty or misrepresentation..

Don't leave out a '86 husqvarna 400 LC wxe she's awesome bike.

I'm seeing some of the late '70's early 80's bikes hitting $6k. That's kind of silly for an average rider. I think the vintage and post vintage racing is driving up the prices.

where will these prices be in 20years ?

its just asking prices, no one pays that. at least i dont think so. careful not to mix up asking prices with stuff actually sells for

yeah some are worth that . some are not . as a rider bike its only worth something else comparable to ride . the collectors will pay plenty for things that they want

big bill is the 400 actually a 400 or was that just what they called the 430 ? is there two different models ? and why ?

ssnz, in the us we have both the 400 and 430..the 400 was only liquid cooled, where we had air and liquid 430. they were same only the 400 had slightly smaller bore. not sure what the reason was, altho i slightly prefer the 400 as it seemed to rev a bit freer and vibrate a tad less.

mission accomplished .81 420 axc ,genuine Swedish history aswell . has a period carb heater and iginiton breather / warm air intake

Hey you have the twin rear brake pedal ******************************************************************************** :applause:
Do you have received the bike ?

I have to agree with Justin on this one. For all you across the pond believers in craigslist, Let me tell you they are mostly turds that you dont wont to deal with. Tell you what you want to here just to make a sell and get over paid. When craigslist first came out , it was actually pretty good then it crashed with fraud after a few years in my opinion. I'd say a 3rd of sellers are trully and dually qualified. People that think ebay sellers actually get those prices are mistaken.

imma pretty big husky nut, just like alot of you guys are..and i see prices i wouldnt dream of paying. i do ride my stuff instead of stare at it but damn.

I think it comes down to how much some one is willing to pay for it a lot of the time and people take that as that's what they go for.
Ever priced a CJ 7 or 8 now days ?
