    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I am never surprised seeing how bashed up my rotor guards get in the rocky rutts we ride. I;m sure it has saved a bent rotor more than once.

I'll try to get you a photo of mine Kelly. I think I have some deeper gouges than that in my rear guard. The rear sharkfin is one of the first protective parts I add to my bikes.
 
Here is my rotor guard after 6 enduros, 4 hare scrambles, and 10 or 15 days of trail riding. The leading edge of the guard is all scraped up, but I have yet to find ANY damage to my rotor. Unfortunately, the red guards were sold out when I wanted to get one, so my black guard isn't quite as pretty as Kelly's red one...

thinking about getting one of the rear guards.

question:
in the description for the disc guard it says that it replaces the axle spacer.
what keeps the disc guard from moving when it takes an impact ?
 
This new gen Motosportz rear "sharkfin" is a well thought out design. The thing flat works and is a true bullet proof Anti-DNF device. (Mine is on the MY11 TE310). The item replaces the axle spacer and is lever armed (locked) onto the brake caliper carrier, its a logical, simple and structurally sound installation. (Did I explain that well? Check in MotoSportz).
I opted for no anodize knowing it would end up gouged all to hades after a few rides anyway. (I'll post a foto as well)

It lips over and wraps around the caliper mount...

I assume the main shaft of the axle goes thru the hole of the guard? I can't figure out why my 2009 TXC rear axle is too large diameter to fit?

Anyone else have this problem or am I mis-installing it somehow?

We had an out of spec batch, don't know what happened there. Replacements are int he mail. Only a few went out so if anyone has one we did not send a replacement for speak up. Sorry about that.
