  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc I Rode The Prototype Wr200 And It Is Amazing...

Will a stock KTM pipe work just as well as the fatty?

My buddy Jon has the stock exc 200 pipe. Can I say "Too Much" bottom. I installed a G-2 throttle with the 400 cam and it is a bit easier but still definitely a handful off the bottom. When Matt said he was going to convert a 200 gnarly pipe, I knew that was going to be tooooooo much. Will have some fmf info in the next day or so....I hope. I need a pipe too.:D

The stock '03-'04 200SX pipe looks like a big 125 pipe, not at all like the FMF Fatty. It's a top end pipe, I'm sure. I really think Walt has the pipe that works and a source for it...

Thats what I thought by lookimg at the pics.I kinda gave up on the EXC200 fatty pipe I had and will focus on the proven 04 sx 200 fatty now sitting on my bench.Going away this weekend for my 50th bday so won,t have any reports for a couple weeks.

Pipe update: I just got the Walt KTM/Husky Hybrid 200SX FMF Fatty pipe from P3 and it's the real deal! I'd forget about Doma this and HGS that, because this is the final piece of the puzzle to make the WB165 all it can be. I thought the 165 worked well with my Dynoport 144 pipe, but this is better. In fact I begged Walt to sell me this very pipe after riding the bike with it and I was lucky enough that he said yes! So line right up, for the first batch of these pipes and you won't be dissapointed. This bike is a KTM 200 killer now!

Yep on everything you said Norm  The Doma or FMF 125 pipe works fine but the 200Sx pipe is like  I said it feels like a KTM 200 motor with more bottom in the original post here and i think people were like "yeah sure it is" This 165 with the 200SX fatty is IMHO the PERFECT off road woods power period.

I am so glad I didn't buy a Husaberg TE250, because this Husky WR/WB165 is so sweet!

Me too, we like having you around here.

when will you guys have the 200SX pipes available for customers? man i cant wait to finally get my kit on. should be this week or so.

Kelly,

Have you had a chance to look at the Pro Circuit pipe I sent you? Kind of meaningless as Pro Circuit discontinued that pipe. But there are still some out there for sale.

Well I finished breaking in my WB165 today and ......it's SWEET :D! I have the 08 CR with a 125 Fatty and PC2 for now but I'm first in line for the 200 SX200 Fatty . Well I hope I'm near the top anyway. The bike as it is now has no dips, lags, flat spots just ripping good power. Awesome job Walt and thanks Kelly for your service; well done guys .

Sums it up! It's amazing what one man can do with a 125cc motor. Then he finds a solid partner to distribute, and you have this magical 165cc kit being shipped all over the place with happy customers!! I'll drink to that

John Kearney is trying to pin down FMF for pricing, etc. I have another buddy who is going to build a jig to mount all the parts and do the welding(yes I suck at welding thin sheet metal). Hopefully we can keep the price down within reason. Really looking forward to being able to offer the complete package. Go to Motosportz, point and click, ship your top end and get back the kit ready to install and go rip. More teething pains that I was hoping but what else is new.

Thanks John and Kelly. You are at the top of the pipe list along with me. Enjoy the pipe Norman.;) Anyone in Norman's neck of the woods that wants to get a feel for what this kit is all about should bum a ride. I am playing on his pipe guilt to let people ride his 165.

You do realize Walt, that your kit has changed the value and availability of the 125s, making it harder for someone (like me) to join in on the fun.:excuseme:

Thanks again Walt! I invited a WR125 rider tonight to try it. He had ridden my 144 and was interested in my 144 top end, but I think he'll want the full "WB165 Kit" when he tries it. I'm sure a few guys will want to try it, this weekend at the Curly Fern Enduro. Husky management, needs to ride this bike.....

Norman don't let them ride the WB165 until after you trade them your 144 for their stock 125 and some cash :D . LOL thats what I did and it dropped my cost of the WB165 by $250.00.
