  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc I Rode The Prototype Wr200 And It Is Amazing...

Vinduro, which pipe did Walt modify for you? A stock 200SX? Let us know what you think! I just bolted on the WB165 top end last night. Need new steering head bearings so work on the front end has been stalled a bit. Painted the welds on my modified exhaust so they wont rust then will install. Can not wait to try this kit out coupled with the new suspension from WER! I also replaced the plastic coolant 'Y' with a brass piece I found on Ebay. Just had to solder in some pipe and shorten the hoses a bit. It looks a bit ugly but I put my IMS tank on and it hides everything. If anyone wants pics of the project let me know.

Matt,

Dwight sent me a FMF Fatty for the KTM 200sx. Same pipe that is on Kelly's.

I just got done shipping mine to Eric Pirie to build CF guards for it. They should be available from him after that.

My Mrs. doesn't even try to check up on my fleet anymore. One of the best reasons to stick with Husky is they all look pretty much the same to a wife... Her: "Is that a new bike?" Me: "No way hon, I just washed the trusty old 2009 CR!". Her: "I haven't seen it that clean in a year". Me: "I used a toothbrush". Her: "Oh..." :D

That's good stuff. Wouldn't work for me, she knows my old yellow/blue beater, and if i came home with a white/red bike. Not good. The last time I came home with a bike, after having her permission, she kicked it over in the garage. Luckily (for her, hahaha) it parked close to a wall

Spousal Discipline is such a touchy thing. I have found that washing my gear along with her "dainties" is always a good way to elicit a response.

Walt,
Good to know as I will be in the market for a pipe guard. My only concern is that my pipe was a bit twisted when I got it. The pipe guard that is made might not fit mine. Oh well.....can always go aluminum! Its very cool that a company will go through the effort to make parts that they probably wont sell a ton of. I will support the effort if I am sure it will fit!

Matt,

Yours is the Gnarly and will take a different pipe guard. I think pipe guards for the gnarly are easily available though.

She has her shoes and clothes, I have my bikes.
the only requirement that does pop up in the last half year is that the next bike must have passengers foot pegs.

so plan of action is overhaul the curent bike

and the bike I truly need for my town activities (suppermotar) have to be one with passengers foot pegs (that's a livable compromise i would say)

I have never asked my wife if I could buy a new bike. I am honestly surprised I am still married:D! They just appear in the garage! The WR is probably the first bike out of many that we actually talked about. I think its because this past race season was the first one where she went to every race. She really got into it and wants me to do better this year. So wife at races = new bike??????? Whatever......works for me!

shoot...you guys are lucky...my wife hates when i even metion a m/c...hates when my m/c friends call me...when i go riding I get text messages before I even get on the bike wondering "how long is it going to be"....finally told her the scooter was her before you and will be long after her...learn to live with it or leave...dang...when she wants to go to the "boat"(casino in IN) I dont complain or even ask how long...say have fun...I cant leave for 6 hours to ride...ahhh

sorry for the rant
