  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I need someone with an FMF megabomb to PM me!

Looking for someone that has the megabomb for the 449/511 (any other may do as well). Please PM me if you are willing to take some measurement from it.

I want to just mode my OEM header to have the "bomb" on it and see how it performs.

Given the timeframe to get one of these, I would rather just weld up my own. I can guess as the measure, but I am sure FMF has optimized it. The measurements I am looking for are in the attached picture.

Edit: I figured out the measurement (rough enough) using Gimp measurement tool.

A - 41.3 mm
B - 24.19 mm
C - 70.977mm
D - 50.15 mm

Curious if anyone wants to double check my measurements with a physical header and a mic.

I'm going to have another custom seat made that fits to the edge of the plastics on the sides towards the rear. That will be so much more comfortable for us old dudes.

Nice, I have found that I am always sitting forward on my bike, but up front there isn't much padding on the seat. My problem is that I am short (5'9") so I don't really want a taller seat. I will have to check seat concepts out a little more.

I have the standard sized 511 seat on mine. VERY highly recommended. Really nice foam and wider in the back for cruising.

The dual setup works and looks awesome like on the Honda's. some people are all about less weight and they wouldn't go for it. I am curious how it will sound. Honda puts their megabombs in the silencer, but they don't work because they can't evacuate the heat. When your megabomb arrives, see my 511 slip on thread or me on fitting it to your smr. :)
