• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

anyone run any of Hyde racing stuff- I have seen their skid plates before and have had luck with "plastic type" skids before-

Yup...me & Ramsey both have the Hyde plate on our TE310's. The only thing I may do is drill some drain holes in it.

We're working our way up in the stocking levels, I am SO HAPPY I finally found these guys as it's hard to beat a slick/smooth ABS plastic belly pan around these parts. Great product for both the 4 and 2 strokes. The 2 Stroke pipes actually protect the frame and lower section of the head pipe which is really sweet.

i like the under foot peg portion of the frame coverage,,,,mine is completly hammered after a full year of trail hack,, and looking at the Hyde I think it would be alot better at covering that area. Also as stated the plastic has low friction when sliding over rocks. PS I have a 06-07 CRD redrilled to fit the 08 (09) chassis it is very nice but is a little bit on the bikini side as far as frame coverage goes

Yea- I am getting an 09, so I am concidering what armor to get- skid, rad guards (ofg, motosports, FORCE, Bulletproof), hand guards( hyde, Zeta, Cyrca, or cheap rocky mountain Dflex...)

I have had suprising luck with plastic skids- (ktm) - the hyde is the only one I have seen available for the husky, I see that the 09s come with plastic case guards on the side too? havent' heard any opinioins on that change yet...

I agree, just paid for mine,

2 weeks has gone by, and i`ve sent about 4 emails to confirm they got my paypal payment & shipping info, no replies at all. It gives an auto response for reciept of email, but no reply to my questions

A bit poor really, i just hope it`s because they are flat out & haven`t had time for positive reasons :excuseme:

If you are looking for cool carbon fiber guards, look at P3 products. Their website has a lot of guards for Huskys.

I've never been more pleased with a skid plate; I've got two bikes now, both with Hyde protection...really like the 'low friction' factor! For rock riding, nothing else seems to be as durable (tried metal and CF products). I found them to be easily available from the USA dist, at http://www.hyderacing.com/contact.htm

I hope nobody has a negative experience and post it here, otherwise Coffee might get threatened with legal action from Hyde. That is why "Hyde" is a forbidden word on ktmtalk and all the reviews are gone. I won't buy anything from this company.

Me neither.

I met up with someone on the trail that had the skinny on that whole deal, the owner of ***talk attempted to take over distribution, and he perpetuated the growing pains of Hyde to his advantage, he broke a few laws to say the least.

It was that sites request for the whole forbidden word and deletions deal.

It's been a great product for me.

I'm vaguely aware of the issue. Not really sure what the details are.

I would like to point out that if people are reading asterisks in posts it is not the forum software or myself putting them in - it is the person making the post.

There's alot more positive feed back than bad, and even that was a few years ago.

You'd think people would move on after awhile, it was one part # that was back ordered for for a few months two years ago for gods sake.

It's been a great product for me, and I see alot of top level racers using them along Kearny, the BMW team and most othe Baja and enduro cross guys.
