  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Husqvarna wr 360 bottom end

Hi, everyone i have Wr 360 year 2000 and i need new bottom end for it. So if Somebody has that for Sale or whole Engine im interested buying and does anyone know Will 250cc or 300cc bottom end fit This Bike?

Check with Bill or Bryon at Bill's motorcycles plus. When I traded my WR360 to him it also came with a second complete crank assy. If he still has it, I am sure it is for sale.

I have a '93 crank that's in great shape.

Also have a top end and everything except the transmission. I used that for a six speed conversion on my bike. I also have another '92 360 top end.

I mean i need the crank cases, crank is ok and All others except Some transmission Parts, but crank cases are in really bad shape. I have bought Like Everything new on This Bike, but didnt First notice that crank cases are finish. Last year i rebuilded the Engine it worked about month Then broke down, then bought again Much new stuff to bottom end. Then it worked 3 weeks and transmission broke Down. Now i just realised a few spots on cases why it keeps broking Parts. So if i buy 250 cases does My 360 crank Fit there? I have just put so much money and time on this bike(more than i paid for it ) it has -08 wr tank, seat, plastics, supermoto wheels and its street legal, So really want to hit the Road when Summer comes here. Thanks for the answers and Sorry for My Bad english, im from Finland

I have EVERYTHING but the transmission shafts and gears. $350.00 plus shipping you can have all the 360 parts I have, including the other '92 top end.

If you need a transmission I can sell you a 2010 300 5 speed, also.

I read that and I just have to repeat to myself "Matt, you don't need another box of Husky engine parts waiting to be put together."

I also have 2 extra sets of 360 cases that I got with my 360. I'd have to go through them to see if they are in even an OK condition or which year they actually are from, but I would think shipping to Finland would be prohibitive.

I sent an ignition to Norway and it wasn't that bad. Like $60.00.

I don't need this 360 stuff, but I do need a new pair of boots. I'm just trying to drum up some boot money. :D

Allright, So i have one opinion here in Finland. Near My home is one Guy selling two sidecar engines mth630, talked him and His willing to sell Them both for 1000e With carb, electrics, Pipe etc. I think it would be hell of a Bike :D. Have to think about it and when My Engine broke Down last october i havent opened it yet... The Motor is on the table clutch side opened, but the cases Are together.. Tomorrow i Try to get the cases cut and see What else i Maybe need in the transmission.

But i do have Some extra trans gears and drum So i guess i Will only need new shifter forks, but i Will see that tomorrow

I was told there is no physical difference in the actual cases
if you know something different I am interested

I'd expect the crankcase to be larger on the 360, for the longer stroke. The 250/300 have the same stroke, so that's not an issue between those two. The 360 is a big in comparison though.

All the other differences I'm thinking of (powervalve, cooling) would deal with the inner clutch cover and cylinder. Bearings are different, but those are all inner diameters with the same interface to the case.

it is common to see cases carry through as many different sizes as possible due to cost of engineering and molds
my earl ones 250, 400, 430 and 500 were the same except you had an odd casting filler (that could be machined out) on the 250 and assuming the 260 was the same but never had one
other brands do this as well
I heard they are interchangeable and would like to hear what is not about them for my own education thank you

Keep reminding me, and I'll take pictures and measurements when I finally get my case tools back and split the 2012 cases again -- I'll compare it side by side with some 360 case halves.

One other thing I just thought of, the swing arm pivot got a boost sometime between 1992 and 2012 (I bet it was after 2002 when the 360 was retired). The hole can be drilled larger in the cases and a newer bushing can be fit, so it's not a huge issue, especially when the cases are already split, but that should of happened with the 250 case as well at the same time. So that may just be something to consider if the 250/300 cases CAN be made to work, as it may require a custom bushing to step down from the larger hole to the smaller swing arm bolt.

im not sure if its a year difference or not but a 91 250 jug will not fit on 92-96 360 cases. stud spacing is different. everything else looks quite identical including clutch, sidecases, clutch cover, etc. i know the 91 is kinda oddball tho
