  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FE/FC husqvarna streetbikes comming to the usa?

What bikes are you talking about? Only "street bikes" we might see are the dualsport 350 and 501 as far as I know. If your talking about the nuda its not happening, that boat sailed.

Oh sure, you mean it's possible we could have been misled yet AGAIN by the new owners of Husqvarna? But they said no more street bikes, and Burleson swears they are an off road brand.

Wow, next there's gonna be rumors that they are hiring the guys back from Husky/Husaberg Sweden to build them by hand and they won't be anything like a KTM.

I'm soooo confused! :busted:

I heard something similar from my local dealer in Australia.

Also heard that Husky will take on KTM's SM bikes and KTM will drop them.

Thay have that big bore SM that isn't anything like a SM. SP said they'd focus on Supermoto. Makes sense...

I don't mind it. The cloned street bikes can offset the offroad bikes separation. If the Terra/strada/Nysa was out sooner things may be different right now. If the brand is meant to get really big and stand on its own two feet without the Indians company support, they need something else. The MX/SX stars you all want are expensive lol

The Italian Huskys had a winning history in supermoto. Of course, any KTM made Husky SM wouldn't be from that gene pool.

I'm interested in the Husky version of the 690 Enduro that we've yet to see.

I have zero issues with them building (re-stickering) street bikes, never had an issue with the nuda or Strada. If people want them build them. Who looses in that scenario? I get confused by those that are so against it, what harm does it do? Big manufacturers make a pile off those bikes and some of that money can trickle down to DB development.
