  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc Husqvarna SMS125 with 144cc kit?

Hey,

a taxi crashed into me 2 years ago when i was riding my 08 sms125 and the bike got totalled. Gonna buy a new 2010 sms125 and looking for bigger power. (had the FP kit on the 08)

I can get hold of the DEP exhaust and Mikuni 38mm carb easily. But i found this 144cc kit in the
special parts catalogue of Husqvarna.

Anyone knows if i will have any issues putting this on a 2010? The price here in norway is ridicilous, does anyone have a price on this and a dealer that can provide? Maybe i should email husqvarna directly instead?

And last but not least, IF the kit fits the sms125 (and i dont see why it shouldnt) AND i can get it without having to sell my kidneys first, what power figures is it realistic to see @ the wheel with these upgrades?

144cc
38mm mikuni carb
Boyesen Reed valve
full DEP exhaust

Best regards!

Motosportz has them $725.00 for CH members. I am pretty sure they fit the 10's. I am not sure about actual power increase but from what I've read it's very noticable. It's what I will be doing soon to my 08 CR125. That SM125 looks AWESOME! I do know we can't get the SM125 over here.

I agree it looks incredible! the 2010 has the black paioli dampers in front, white frame, black rims and the 450rr replica plastics. I have plans for it though ;) (powder coating and custom graphics)

If you live in the states, i dont think it passes co2 emissions. Its restricted from 28hp to 15 here, but with the WR cylinder and 38mm it has about 38 to the wheel. With 15% displacement increase it should be pretty wild.

I read somewhere that a guy could buy the kit for 330 euros, but still trying to find out where it was that cheap.. tell me if you find it any cheaper :)

Will Do. No it can't come to the states because we have global warming with 2' of snow on the ground LOL. WE do have a billion Chinese's made scooters on the roads though.

a bit offtopic

haha oh no! i hate those kyoungs :P - same here with global warming, and its been below minus 10 degrees since december, minus 18 as we speak.
(Just hope were not running into a new ice age, shouldve bought the WR instead then)

Ill post here when i find more info on the kit (including prices from vendors). gonna contact husqvarna directly about specs on it.

its £700+ here in britain! husky sport enquired for me. you'll have to do a lot more than that to get 38BHp at the wheel. sm/wre has different cdi, balence shaft and heavier flywheel. it also has bigger generator and oilpump sapping power. i would think it should definitly fit, the wr/cr and sm/wre cylinders are the same just one has more taken of the top and less off the bottom than the other to increase port duration. this is from what i have measured on cylinders. that bike is beautiful, post some pics if you get it please!

Looks awesome and I think it would be a blast to ride. Congrats and enjoy. Hey you should stick some pics here too.

So now im confused...what do you get with the Eric Gorr 144 kit for $475 that you dont get in the husky kit for $725? Is the Eric Gorr kit a bore job and the husky kit a whole new cylinder?

Yep the EG kit is a bore, port, piston, ring, and gasket kit with your supplied cylinder. The Husky kit includes the cylinder and 144 parts. The EG 144 kit give you options on porting for low/mid or top end power.
