• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Press Release:
Husqvarna UK is pleased to announce a partnership with South Wales based Off Road Skills, who provide off-road training and off-road ride outs, in a picturesque setting at the edge of the Brecon Beacons. Off Road Skills will now be offering customers the chance to train on a selection of Husqvarna’s acclaimed Enduro bikes. The TE250 and the revolutionary TE449 and TE511 will be available to use on the Off Road Skills courses – ‘Day in the Dirt’ and ‘Level Enduro’.

Simon Pavey, legendary eight–time Dakar racer and Chief Instructor at Off Road Skills: “It’s great to announce the arrival of our new Husqvarna models. They have a fantastic collection of proven enduro bikes that are so easy to ride and learn on. We love riding them and it is great to add more scope to our enduro bike options with a range of engine sizes, we now have an enduro bike to suit everyone.”

On offer will be the 2011 TE250 with a host of updates based on feedback from the factory CH Racing World Enduro team. Larger fuel tank, revised suspension settings, revised frame design with improved clearance on rutted ground, improved power delivery at low engine speeds and a standard fit dual mode switch to provide access to the two different maps in the ECU. All this combined with class leading power and handling!

Plus the 2011 TE449 and TE511 which have been designed for the pro-rider as well novice riders. These models boast a new Brembo front brake system, Brembo hydraulic clutch and new Kayaba suspension. They also feature Husqvarna’s latest chassis design featuring Coaxial Traction System (CTS) which thanks to the unique layout of the rear suspension, combined with the concentric positioning of the swing arm pivot and gearbox drive shaft, provides unrivalled traction and stability.

HVUK, General Manager, Massimo Granata commented: “We are delighted to announce a new partnership between Husqvarna in the UK and Off Road Skills. Our enduro models are perfectly suited for existing off-road riders and those just starting out. The TE250 is a World leader, with Antoine Meo riding one to victory in the World Enduro E1 Championship in 2010, and now Off Road Skills customers have the chance to ride it!”

Off Road Skills is based at one of the UK’s finest and most exclusive off-road facilities, the spectacular 4,000 acre Walters Arena in South Wales. Unique not only in its vast size, but also the variety of terrain and fantastic all weather capability, Walters Arena is another reason that Off Road Skills stands out as the place to go.
