• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna/Husaberg/KTM visual comparo from Pala MX SoCal

Luckily it appears they are EXACTLY the same so one could simply either get a Berg or convert their new "Husky" back to its"roots".

the husky has linkage and white plastic.

There were a whole bunch of these types of bikes behind me yesterday on the he trail trying to keep up with my 511 :D

We can clearly see its a Husaberg with a linkage chassis, all else is Husaberg in different color combos.
PS all are 250 4T models

What does that bit about the linkage mean?
All the Husky brand bikes are using the XC/SX linkage type rear shock set up chassis, No PDS rear (no link suspension) for the Husky brand (to me thats a good thing at this point in the bikes evolution).
In the fotos the KTM 250XC-W and Husaberg FE250 are both PDS bikes the Husky FE250 is a linkage rear suspension bike

I was hoping that was the same thing as what's on the '11 - '13 TEs, but sounds different? I wonder why they abandoned the CTS or whatever it's called.

EDIT: I was also hoping they would go forward with the centralized lowered gas tank.

Looks like they are targeting MX not Enduro??

Prolly same thing no matter what you were riding. Bikes have little to do with that, if you can ride ...you can ride

As you know I usually ride my 165 in the gnar but took the 511 yesterday as it has some mods I wanted to try. Rode with a good group and two guys I ride with a lot. Usually in the tight stuff with my 511 they are right there. With my 165 I can leave them. Yesterday was very happy with my 511 mods and the bike ripped up the tight single track well. Last trail was a very tight technical single track with off cambers, river and log crossings, super tight slip the clutch in 1st switchbacks etc. I led and wanted to see if I could shake or gap them. Was really happy to gap them by several minutes on that 3 mile semi gnarly trail. 511 was working fantastic in conditions I usually struggle in with that bike. Am just happy with the mods thats all. My comment was obviously flip and there are many guys that will smoke me on a KTM. Was just fun putting the odd bike everyone calls a POS out front.

PS Motosportz is no slouch on the trail. I've witnessed his special test times in person. With the ZipTy suspension and F.I. mods he's got er dialed, good pilot, good bike=good speed.
I think the number one issue with these odd motor and CTS chassis machines is getting the suspension in its correct (through R&D/Top tier Racing development from ZTR) position/set up.
Then of course all the ZTR/Tinken engineered F.I. and other mods get her further dialed in. ZTR has the highest level of R&D on this BMW/Husky bastard child (PS no disrespect to bastard children, I'm one myself).
POS- nah its just the odd girl out, odd makes them more interesting.

Forget all that existed from the Italian factory.
The new bike brand is (KTM)Pierer industrie owned, made in Austria and all the previous model lines are dropped or sold off to other companies.
You need only to look at KTM/Husaberg for what all your new Husqvarnas will have built into them.
And yes they do have Husky FC/TC four and 2 stroke MX machines as well a FE/TE 4 and 2 stroke enduros in the model line up.
IMHO the FE/TE line will be the best of the best that the new Husky has to offer. The Enduro line is top tier "ready to race" and win out of the box.

Thanks for the props Robert, I try. The Map3, Zipty suspension and MME clutch lever transformed a good bike into a great bike for me. Then just setup stuff makes the difference. There was a KTM 300 6 days, KTM 250, KTM350 all setup, KTM450, CRFX250, CRFx450 and a WR450 all at this ride. Anyway back on topic.
