• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna CR 500 tank

that KX tank is a display model...it was off to the dump as it was totally shagged but Mick just cant help himself...looks sensational:applause:

Hi there, I just got a tank repaired and sides polished ready for the same paint job. Any chance of the silver paint code you used? So far all I have to go on is that Ford 2007 silver is a pretty good match.

Hey Wildebeest ,
I have asked Mic and he responded with paint code C Map : 359D3 :excuseme: ? I have asked him for some more info as I would like to paint the frame in the same colour.

Cheers
Col

Nice tanks! You're right that silver looks like a very good frame paint color.

The edges of the decals are invisible, very nice looking. Any idea what they are and if they're for sale?

Theres a listing on Ebay for 60's - 70's Husky tank decals that are Waterslide (what ever that is) and they're also really thin. They're asking $100 for two Husqvarna decals, the Fuel Mix Ratio decal, and Made in Sweden decal. A little rich for my blood.

I've attached the paint formula.

Hey col, sent my tank off to a painter in the UK who doesn't use decals on any of his work. I've seen his stuff and it looks pretty damn good, we shall see.... He was happy with the paint code though thanks. I'll post up when I get it back as I want to recommend the dent man who did an amazing job on it too. The hi tech polishing mop in the pic is Horace, my cat. He actually did very little to help the process but invade the towel whilst I polished.
