• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna 2013 Models!

No TE250R coming to NA. Only 310.

Great idea ... Any one who can ride a 250 can ride a 310 ... Lets move all we can to the 310 platform ... But don't even consider removing all the 250 machines off the board ...

No slight gear-ratio changes on any models?

I know BMW owns Husky, but shouldn't Husky be making the announcements about their bikes?

part of the BMW "group" and it is a corporate announcement. I would get used to it.

Having BMW do the announcement is not conducive to building up the brand. That may be how BMW wants to do it, but it has a negative effect on their effort to build the brand.

Now, I could see BMW having a press release about it the next day... sure. But the thunder should be given to the BRAND.

Are 630´s still being made? Looks as if they´re just letting their stock of 630´s go and that the Nuda is set to be the replacement.

Well, so much for the DFI / New Tech 250/300/350 2Ts for 2013.

Lets see what they show at EICMA this year - possibly there's some hope left.

I don't think anyone thought that would happen til 2014 when they have to. The other manufacturers are not doing it ether. KTM already released their stuff, no DFI 2st.

I´ll just have to wait for a comparison between the old 630 and the new 650 .... but I´d be surprised if they can manage to get the weight down, power up and keep it street legal.

384lbs is the target weight from earlier reports.

Like the article said... it's a street bike that can do some dirt. Not a dirt bike that can do some street, like the TE610. The benefit of the porkiness is those engines last pretty well if you take care of them.

Does this mean there won't be a TRUE replacement for the 610? Who knows... Perhaps it didn't sell enough. WE love it, but did enough people?

I just hope there will be a viable replacement before mine gives up the ghost. I think that'll be a while, though.

348lbs is way over my limit. Not the slightest interest in a panzer. So there´s still the 449/500 bikes as an alternative.

Yes, but those bikes aren't geared as well for DS use, nor will they last as long. There's always a tradeoff...

You want a tank? Try the Triumph 1200 Explorer. 570 lbs!!!
My F800GS weighs about 400 lbs in comparison, 170 lbs less.

Judging from Husqvarna NA's Facebook page, it seems that they have all but bought Dirt Rider magazine. I was reading this article earlier and couldn't help but notice that Husqvarna is in three places without even scrolling. Perhaps these 2013s will be well covered in the magazines.

If you scroll through each page there is either a Husqvarna Gunsight featured prominently or a Husqvarna bike image at the top of each page.
