  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna
Hi guys. Recently I am thinking about upgrading from my 125 2t to one of the bikes stated on the title. I am looking for a used one and the bikes I've checked are from 2002 to 2004. Specifically the husqy is a 04 bike, the fe I've checked is a 03 bike the exc's are a 2000 and a 2003 bike and the wrf is a bike of 2002. I will use any of the bikes above as a motard for everyday use, won't use it for distances of more than 20 kms without a couple of hours break and I am willing to pay the fully synthetic oils it needs in time. Now I am asking your opinion on which bike I should prefer. I know that this is a husqvarna forum, but I believe that if the husqy lacks on something you'll let me know.
The husqy is the bike I know the least about. The other three bikes need oil change every 10 hours of use and oilfilters every 20. Maybe the wrf is a little cheaper but I believe it's about the same. It's the same for the husqvarna or not? Does it take oil changes more or less often? I've heard that husqies have pretty reliable engines that won't brake down and don't need a rebuild as often as the other bikes I stated on the the title. Is that true or it's about the same for the smr as for the other bikes? What about power? Is it the strongest or weaker than the other bikes? Does it have a good driving behavior? I've heard the best about the driving behavior of the excs and the husabergs, could the smr be compared to them? Generally which you advice me to go for? How far is the reliability of the bikes compared to each other? How far is the power? How far is the cost of maintenance?

Please excuse me for my many questions, and my poor english. If you didn't understand something I wrote please let me know and I'll try to express it better and clearer.

1. Yamaha - Very reliable and good machine, great motor, EZ to tune suspension. Ez to get parts for. Piles of upgrade stuff available
2. KTM - same as the yamaha but slightly less reliable and I don't really like the PDS rear suspension and find WP stuff kinda crappy. Piles of upgrade stuff available
3. Tie berg and husky - the 04 husky has valve issues and the bergs have some valve train issues. Both are going to be harder to find parts for.

So you'd recommend them in that order? On power and maintenance issues all these bikes are near?
Also how comes you don't like wp? Everyone swears over them. You're probably the first person I hear dislike them.

yes that order. power will be similar on all. I know lots of people who dislike WP and have seen many posts that way too. Like anything they can be made to work fine just not my favorite starting point personally. The newer the better, some of the older stuff is really bad IMHO.

Thanks for answering me.

If anyone knows the dimension of the wheels I need to get in order to convert any of the bikes stated on the title from an enduro to a sm, please answer me bellow. I'd be thankful.
