  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I have a husky boy senior I believe a 2001. How do I calm it down a bit for my 6 year old. When the clutch engages the rpms are very high leading to a rough takeoff. It scared him a little>
Thanks Brian

Is it liquid cooled or air cooled? The air cooled you can put in the soft springs on the clutch and makes it motor around more like PW50 until gets on the pipe.If its liquid cooled we havent had any luck taming them down without early clutch burnout ,they just dont like going slow..On air cooled you can put the JR 4hp top end and carb.We have carbs and heads used not sure about cylinders, might be easier to add a couple base gaskets and 14mm carb and alot cheaper.

softer clutch spring maybe idk ask that on the KTM forum or grasp the 6 year old firmly and shake vigorously till testes drop thats what it said in the manual hell it worked on all 5 of mine and some of them are girls!! but there names are LeRoi and Clyde..... yep there tuff

It is the air cooled version. I did see softer springs on the Morini website. Softer springs and a 14mm carb sound good. Will I have to make any changes if I add the carb?

So helpful!

also for your research check into Surflex if they make a clutch for that mini. Ive seen their clutch fix a bunch of KTM 50 minis in regards to launch engagement (Those are the Beta Motor engines or Minarelli sourced??)
