  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husky TE510 2009 IMS 3.0 GALLON TANK

Hi There

I have just fitted a new IMS 3.0 gallon tank to my TE510.

Wondering if anyone has a good graphics kit they can suggest for this bike / tank combination ??
Fitting was easy and touch wood all goes well... Bought direct from IMS who were very helpful and shipped to Australia no issue..

Any suggestions would be appreciated ( pics even better )

Looking forward to giving the new tank a run this weekeend.

THANKS RIC

When I had an IMS, I cut the tab off of the panels, then cut some strap holes into the panels and used a zip ties and some velcro strap under the seat to hold the panels on, good thing I didn't use glue because I eventually sent the tank back due to leaking.

Good to hear, the ims is a good size as the safari is just a bit too big for general trail riding. Older huskys idea seems like a good one (as usual). Did you have issues with the fuel pump and seal fitting ok? What sort of range are you getting from your type of riding?

thx for the info... good pics too.. may try what you have suggested with the velcro..

not sure on range yet.. going out this weekend so will have a better idea.. will post back then

thx ric

stay away from the velcro or any kind of double sided tape. the plastic will come off in a ride or 2. or at least the first branch hit/fall/high speed street run willl take them off. i first tried 3m double sided tape and that didn't las long. if you want to make sure they stay on, pick up some amazing goop. i used the stuff and they are holding up great. lots of falls, spilled gas, etc and there's no sign of them coming off.

i got the info using this thread http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/ims-tank-install-2010-te250.13187/page-2#post-166393

good luck with whatever method you use. this is just my .02 cents.

great info

will definately try this..

rode yesterday and loved the new tank... havnt worked out the mileage yet but should get more than 140 kms ( i hope.. )

THX RIC
