• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

HUSKY RESTORE

Husqvarna
Hello,

I am in the process of restoring my father-in-laws Husky. We think it is an 82 CR250. Unfortunatly, he does not remember what it is. It is in very good condition and has been stored for same time. I have looked for numbers on the engine and the frame, but I can't find any. It is an air cooled 2 stroke.

Please help with any info and point me to the right forum.

I would also like same info on upgrades and new mods.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

here's one place to look for frame & motor serial numbers

http://www.huskyclub.com/model.htm

82 250 CR should be frame # CN11000 or higher & motor # 2088

frame #is on the left side of the frame front , turn the forks to see it easier.. motor # is on left side of the motor center case near the kick starter.

The #cn00000. Frame number was used for the 250cr in '81 & in '82 one was the older case('81) and the other is the newer case ('82). The older '81 engine was a good running engine. The newer '82 case has larger transfer ports. Revised transmission. The engine serial numbers are above the sprocket on top of the flange on the older case it's a riveted plate. I'd take every older 2079 cr 250 engine I could get my hands on.
