• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I don't think that the alpahbet is his strong point, since he can't even spell my simple name correctly.
Of course it might be some sort of Freudian retaliation for me still sitting on the fence at this late juncture in the game.
Any way I'm not going to know if I can make it till the last minute. If I can break away form work I'll see you all there but don't wait up for me.

Quit pickin on me! :D (JK) Ok, that was to harsh. Just read my signature.

I was only tryin to help with a head count so I know how many bullets to bring.

Last one signed up brings the beer rajo?

Import, Micro only!

Hey folks, Me and the wife will be on the fence till sat. morning. We have every intenion of showing up . For as long as I have lived in this desert I have never riden that area of cuddy dry lake. The biggest ? for us is where to stage to make this a 40/50 mile or so round trip! can you stage some where around the dry lake off 395. Has anybody did this ride from the harper lake (solar plant) side? thanks, Todd

You can go up 395 to Twenty Mule Team Pkwy. Turn right and go as far in as you want to stage up. The Monument is about 25mi. from there. I've gone to the Monument from the Hinkley side via the Inscriptions. From the solar panels it's doable but I don't know the exact route. Hope this helps.......

HI Gang : Larry ,John and Julio were out at the memorial site about 3 weeks ago and posted to the south directing trails was an official looking barrier with a sign stating not to travel the southerly trails because of toxic waste and unexploded ordinance.
We don't know if any signs are posted on the south end of the trails or not. . Thought some of you may want to know of the military warnings.

We're going in from 20 mule team rd. Julio

We have a pretty good group of mixed riders. It should be in the low 90s with light wind.:applause: I love the weather men, I think they are the only ones surprised when they get it right!
