  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husky makes a 13.5ltr tank??

I asked Hall's about that and they said it's a mis-print and that they are the IMS tanks, 3.0 gal.

It is the same tank as the IMS. There must be a misprint, because I know Husqvarna is sourcing them from IMS.

The picture is not an IMS

I went an checked on 8000H1303, the tank in post #3 which is for the tc which was backordered.
The 8000H1304 tank in stock was the IMS unit for the fi te/smr. Hopefully Safari can come thru witha tank that uses the stock shrouds...

The tank in post 3 looks awesome! way better than IMS It actually has style not just a bubble tank

The tank on pic3 is a 125 tank available from Husky as an OEM part!

For the bigger 4strokes the IMS tank is available in black as OEM part.
You can choose between a TXC or TE version ... Carb or FI.

Looks like the stock shrouds will fit too! I like the way the fuel is down low, and not wider like the IMS. I wonder the $ is. Theirs all sorts of goodies on their special parts site, How would you go about ordering any of those things?

This one doesn't look like an IMS. Pricey tank - $585 and they are 12liters, but 11.5 might be more accurate. This tank is listed for a 450.
On a similar note. I spoke to GP and MotoForza, both said they could get an IMS tank for my bike and made no mention of a Husky larger tank for my TE450.

TE/SMR - Part no. 8000H1304
TX/TWC - Part no. 8000H1303

IMS is much cheaper. I found some online for $250 shipped (3.4 gal and 3.9gal)

Hi,

I'm in Oz and used my 10% discount at TT to get an IMS for the 310 from the states delivered cost was $363AU a saving of approx $180AU on R&Ds price...no offense but that is a bit of a rort.

My IMS tank (translucent / white) purchased May 09 (after the "fixes" that IMS introduced) cracked on a inside 90 degree corner above the vent hole. Google the problem and I am not alone. IMO the forward wings of the tank are not supported enough to damp oscillation and fatigue cracks the tank. This is not crash damage

09 TE510.

IMS has not responded to my e-mails.(only 3 days though) I'm going to be on the phones today.
