• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

HUSKY LOSES ANOTHER RIDER !

AA Class
If I said I wasn't concerned about Huskys commitment to racing,I'd be lyin'. Every time I hear things like Meo,Juha, Seb leaving ,it's upsetting. Now one of FAR 's teammate has left...Morgan Moss !Sure he didn't have a stellar performance this year, but come on the young guy had his moments..like this holeshot for one! You think after riding/racing Husky's only for 35+ years,I'd be used to this...NOT!

GUSCYCLE :excuseme:

that sucks man, kinda new to the whole following racers thing but one thing is apparent, this is one brutal field of work to try to make a living off of.

FAR Husqvarna did not quit Morgan Moss. Morgan quit FAR Husqvarna. We wish Morgan well in his racing future. But with that said FAR Husqvarna's are capable of winning races. Just as Jason Thomas has successfully proven. We encourage anyone currently or hopes of attaining a Husqvarna to contact us at FARHusqvarna.com with any tech support.

Proffessionally, very well said. The hallmark of a true Sprortsman. Both riders are very good and I am sure they will both perform well. Was dissapointed Morgan did not race in this years 6 Days after qualifying very well. Both riders are a treat to watch. Shame we only get to see one of them on a Husky but then again......1 on a Husky is better than seeing 10 on any other machine....GO FAR and Husqvarna!

I agree plus very cool for FAR to offer setup tips / tech support to fellow Husky riders. Not sure why Moss left but sounds like FAR offered support through EOY. Moss wasn't having a great year so not a huge loss but wish him the best. Hopefully we'll see more Huskys in the Pro classes in 2012!

Some Husky haters out there for sure. This is from Digital Off Road.com....
Speaking of Husqvarna, last week Hoop mentioned that Morgan Moss and FAR parted ways after the Mountain Ridge race. Moss is one of a few riders this year that have parted ways with the brand because they feel like the Husky was holding them back from reaching their potential. Earlier in the season West Coast racers Bobby Bonds and David Kamo also decided to dump the Husky in hopes of turning around their year. What does it say about a bike if a pro racer would rather spend their own money on bikes and parts then race a factory Husqvarna? For a up and comer like Scott Grills or Andrew Delong, also rumored for the FAR ride, that question has to have crossed their minds. Is it worth taking the risk riding a Husky and potentially killing the momentum they’ve built this year or does it make more sense to continue on their own until another proven brand comes knocking?

Truth is as humans we tend to try to blame something for not accomplishing something we want to or whatever. The fact of the matter is, if you are a fast guy you can adapt and win on anything, (even a KTM if you had to). If you are suffering mechanical DNF's, that is one thing. That would be a good reason to change brands. Some people are better suited to certain bikes then others to. I can jump on a YZ and ride it fast after only a short time. I jump on a KXF, and HATE everytthing about it except the engine!! Husky has and unfortunate battle, but they are doing better with cont. programs and whatnot. Good luck to him. And good luck to whoever is his replacement!!!

Meo, Juha, J. Thomas, they seem to being pretty well.

Unfortunately it looks like Meo and Juha might not be hanging around the Husky camp. I havent looked at the points situation in GNCC XC2, but I'm hoping JT can keep on truckin' and maybe pull of a Championship for Husky! I'm looking foward to FAR having a rider in the National Enduro Series next season.

yes I realize that they may be leaving, I was responding to the story about pro riders not being able to win on Husqvarna. I do hope they are able to keep a few top riders.

If a PRO/AA rider can't make a free factory bike work for them, that tells me that they (the rider) aren't very good at setting up their bikes...

I do know that Morgan is blaming the bike for his results. He said a few other things, but I'll just leave it at that.

Isn't he blaming a bike that has won a couple of world championships this year ? This sounds more like a rider issue.

My hat's off to F.A.R. and their continued sucess with Husqvarna! JT has shown that winning is possible on the Husky, not to mention the Europeon effort of Meo and Juha . I for one would love to see Husky return to National Enduro Series ,despite the less then favorable spectator view points that alot of people complain about. Funny how I can manage to get my crippled old ass to some of the best 'viewing' areas at enduros.(take a look at all the people that show up Euro enduro events!)
Whatever is in store for Husqvarna off-road racing and F.A.R., I want to wish them all the best and I will continue to support Husqvarna until I die....been with them for over 35 years ..... good habits are hard to break ...nor do I wish to!

Of course he is blaming the bike. That is a good scapegoat for someone that just got some bad breaks. Again a fast rider of course can win on ANYTHING!!! And the Husqvarnas both feel good and are proven reliable. Probably a younger guy just off mamas bottle and grew up riding a jap bike!

I think Fred was very professional in his response and handled it very well.

Morgan needs to walk away in the same professional manner because sometimes when your negative, then no one wants you.

What is hard, you spend a lot of time, money and resources, only to start with new rider again.

But Fred is good at picking them.

It is great to see FAR'S results this year with a new team!

Andrew Delong...mhnnnn...great rider from North East. Can he blast through the woods with the best of them? Can a bum make a new set of clothes stink?
Would be nice but Andrew has been a KTM guy for a while so there you go. I never saw him on a 4 banger though. Very nice young man and very good presentation of himself at the races both on and off the track and his father supports him equally as well at the races. Good peeps. Maybe a east coast team for the AMA Enduro team and on thw WR's! Those "badly in need of an update" (magazine quote) 2 strokes would really turn heads if they started winning in the woods and fuel the fire for new 2 stroke reelase in the future.....cheaper to maintain too.... Just sayin'...Husky you listening?

Hey guys! I actually wrote that blurb on digitaloffroad.com. I wasn't bagging on the bike or brand, just posing a question after a few riders have made the choice to move on. As a consumer and a race fan I have to question why these guys are jumping ship. It doesn't look good when multiple riders leave a brand and aren't shy about the reason. No matter if you think it was the bike or not, the riders did. As mentioned above by others, there are definitely success stories this year including FAR's Jason Thomas. But the comment come up in relation to new riders considering the brand. I know for a fact that these other riders issues with the brand weigh in on future riders decisions. That was the point I was trying to make and not at all bashing the bike.
