  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc Husky Factory 144 kit coming

It's a good mid-season option because you get no down time.

If the kit had been available sooner I would of taken that route. 3 months probably means 5 maybe 6...;)

Great info Norm, thanks. And that Gilardoni does it might even add more fuel to the fire of a factory 144 next year.

scrambler,

I haven't had to make any jetting changes from what was working best before the kit. The only difference is that it is quite a bit colder once I got it going again so if anything I will need to lean it out slightly.

What year bikes would this fit? The Husky web site does not get specific. I am looking to buy a new leftover or used CR125.

Has anyone actually received one of these kits? I have several on b/o and am getting ready just to send the cylinders to EG for his kit.

Scott,

Kelly actually got two originally and he is now waiting like you for follow up kits. I am on his list for one of them and will be doing a comparison of the kit vs EG.

Bottones spoke to Parts at Husky US and the kits haven't been released from the Factory to NA yet. I'm too busy riding my new sled to be getting nervous yet.....

What is all that white stuff around you there Norm? Sweet looking sled!

Where did Kelly get 2 kits from then? Were they Husqvarna 144 kits from the U.S.?

As of last week, Canada gets their parts direct from the factory and the 144 kits are not in stock in Italy.
