  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husky 2008 Te 450 Question

formula400

Husqvarna
C Class
Hello guys, I am new here, just got my 3rd husky in about 10 years , I’ve also had the sms610 and the smr 510
A few nights ago I got my hands on this 2008 TE450.
its registered at the end of 2007 but I've been lead to believe its its the 2008 injected modal because of the Panels, exhaust (being on the left side) forks, rear shock, engine, headlight frame.
questions i have is, i would like an after market exhaust for it, what modals and years fit??? will SM 450/510 or TC fit??? from any years???
it will spend it life for the foreseeable future in SM trim, so id like to get a bigger 320mm front disk for it and that means ill need a relocation bracket for the std caliper, where can i get one??? I've seen a few things saying certain ones don't fit.
the sad thing is i can't ride it for another 4/6 weeks as I've busted my hand and its taking it time getting better.

cheers guy

Your frame should have a sticker on the steering stem to what year it is. If it is a 08’, you don’t have many options on an exhaust. 08’ is a one off year. 09’ has a different exhaust and injection. If you can find a 09’ midpipe and muffler, there are a few options. FMF, Arrow, Leo Vince, and Vance and Heines used to make mufflers for 09’ and up. FMF might be the only one still making them. I haven’t looked in a few years, but last time I checked they did. I’m not sure about the larger brake kit.
