  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Huge Engine braking with rekluse!

Niklas

Husqvarna
C Class
Hi, I just got my rekluse core exp 2.0 and it works great but i got ALOT of engine brake compared to what i had with the stock clutch, i think it's pretty annoying with so much engine braking.

And i do have correct free play in my clutch lever.

If you are in third gear and releasing the throttle it almost feels like you are riding in the first gear.

If possible i would like to know if there is a way to get rid of the engine brake or atleast get it down!

I have a Husky Te 250 2010

Glad for any answers..!

Raise the idle speed and you will quickly learn that you can run a gear higher.

I agree with Kelly. The only thing I could think of (and I doubt that this would be the case) is if the clutch was previously always slipping and now it's not.

I have just fitted a core exp 2.0 to my TE310 and it works great but I would have to say it has slightly reduced engine breaking most noticable right at the point where the revs drop down to the time of the clutch releasing and you free wheel slightly. I have mine set with slight dragg when in first gear no clutch lever pulled in and you can feel the bike wanting to go with the engine at idle (2100 RPM) you can play with the free play gap and also change the EXP plate internal springs I stayed with the standard 3 silver 3 red. I think from memory (read you instruction book it should be in there) if you go to the 6 silver this will result in the EXP plate going to free wheel state higher in the revs and would therefore reduce your engine breaking. I agree with Andrew you may have had an issue before. My TE310 had great engine braking before I changed to the Rekluse.

Hi and thanks for the answers!
I tried With the red springs and it was much better.

Another question, i tried to increase the idle and i guess i changed to much because i got some bogs when i was riding.
It should be 2.5-3 turns out right?

Good to hear the red springs made it better.

I made be wrong but I thought the idle is set by the ecu and to adjust it you have to take it to a dealer. That's what they did to my bike the last time I took it in they lifted the idle from 1900 RPM to 2100 RPM and they told me this new setting came from the factory advice. I may be wrong here but the higher idle has stopped some of the low rev issues I had.
