  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc HQ CR125 99 clutch and clutch basket

Rohanas

Husqvarna
I reacently bought badly worn Husky cr 125 1999. I dissassembled whole engine, to change bearings and my eye cought up on smashed cluch basket. I want to ask you guys, can I fit Honda cr 125 clutch basket, or any kind of KTM or newer husqies cluch basket in? And another question is, clutch friction plates are about 3mm thick, how much life is left in them?

A honda basket will not work. Check the classifieds on here. I thought I saw some engine parts for sale awhile back. I would replace the friction plates just to be sure. Any 98-13 husky 125 basket will work.

The spec on new discs is 3mm.

There isn't much room for wear so you need to measure them out. I had to put a new clutch in mine and most of the old disks were worn down to about 2.85mm (2 were 2.75)

May I ask you, where I could find some kind of chart for part fitment from other motorcycles?Like: Honda cr cluch 125 plates fit into husqvarna cr 125, husqvarna (any model) 125 piston fits into any other husqvarna 125. I don't want to create a new thread so I ask here.

The baskets are just about the same but the earlier motors the clutch gear on the back of the clutch and the crank gear are different and will not work unless a matched pair are used
I have a new basket and gear sat on the shelf but as yet have not found a gear from a older motor that will mesh with it, The early gear is around 10mm thick and the later is around 6mm from memory.
