• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hows Huskys warranty ?

It should not be this way but it is all about your dealer and your relationship and how far he wants to go to help you out. My experiences have been very positive and I carry no real weight with husky USA but have a good relationship with my dealer.

I agree, unfortunately even calling HNA led me nowhere as they wouldn't let me file a claim, told me the dealer had too. :censored:

BUT, either way, a 30 day is crap, period. The bike NEEDS the race map just to keep it running reasonable until a JD can be installed. For them to be able to say this converted it to a race bike is nonsense, its their part
and they included it with the bike.

They called husky or whatever they do today. And now I wait.

I would like to see this done sooner rather than later as I bought this bike because this race series pays contingency. Bought a brand new bike and singed up for the series and pre entered the first event. First race in under two weeks.

Good luck man, that does suck.

understand your frustrations.

My dealer tells me he will make good on the stator with no cost to me. After three day of Husky not returning calls he has offered to make things right. They have never had Husky not get back to them in the past.
The Mrs. made a call to Husky and who ever she talked to was a jerk to her. Nobody need to take crap off a motorcycle corporation for any reason. Looks like the only thing I can expect from Husky was that tee shirt for contingency.

So Husky customer service in Cal called Texas and told them to fix this. We got calls from the shop and Husky Cal. that parts have been expedited so should be good by this weekend.
I feel better now. Wonder who I can stiff a snit to about the grand drop in price ? I think I will just stop as I was never upset about the deal I got.

Well its done and I will pick it up this Saturday. They sent a stator out express only to discover the CDI was also bad. I thought Texas was going to send each part at the same time. So they sent the CDI and finished it today.
My dealer did good. Now on to the first race in two weeks. I need some seat time so I will call in sick until all sick time is used up, then I will call in dead that's gotta be three more days right ?

They had the old stator in a box they have to keep it for 90 days . What had happened was the plastic on the pick up cracked and the spark went to the flywheel instead of the cdi.

I am now back in love with this bike, spent the rest of the day on it. This thing likes to jump !!

Stuff happens to all brands. Glad you got it back and like it and your dealer rules

I'm glad you solved it , doesnt the U.S have consumer rights laws??. Over here I'm pretty sure a manufacter is obliged to replace or repair at their own cost any faults caused by poor workmanship or materials, there is also a clause saying it must be able to cope with reasonable wear and tear also. This is for any product sold in the country, regardless of the company's warranty periods.

But often is the case the manufacturer/supplier/dealer argues that it may have been broken due to customer neglect.
